I am 17 years old, i get a call and i answer it, and its a automated voice telling me to call msci back.

They've called my house several times. Comes up on caller ID as Telstar hosted. Tonight is the first time they've left a message - "this call is regarding a village or municipality near you..." Uh...really? LOL I don't bother with this sort of call except to google the numbers to see what they're pulling. I have no debts or outstanding violations of any type (never had any of those!) so there's no reason for them to be calling my number except to harass/scare people. I do get calls for someone else in town whose phone number is the same as mine except the last 2 numbers are reversed. I'm guessing they're looking for him. He gets a TON of collection calls...well...I do since they can't seem to dial the number right.

BTW, I'm not even in Illinois!

I paid $250 to MCSI to cover a Homewood ticket.  Now, 10 months later, they are calling me again FOR THE SAME TICKET!!!  I told them I paid.  They said they have no record of it.  Nice try azzholes.

I had the same thing happen to me.  I had a parking ticket in Chicago Heights that was send to the wrong address.  By the time I found out, it was already in collections with MCSI.  I paid the ridiculous amount and thought it was over.  I then get a call from MCSI several months later pursuing the same ticket.  MCSI told me I never paid.  I called Chicago Heights and they had no record I ever paid.  I sent them both my cancelled check endorsed by MCSI and never heard from either again.  How can MCSI and the Chicago Heights PD both lose my check?

They left a message on my answering machine stating they were MCSI and this was an urgent message about a city or village in my area.  They said to call between 8:30am and 5pm Monday through Friday.  The number did come up on my caller ID.  After reading the comments I decided not to call them.

I paid MCSI for three Blue Island and one Riverdale tickets in 2008 for $800.  Now, they started calling me again saying I owe the same three Blue Island and one Riverdale ticket, only this time they want $1000!!!  I told them I paidand went to both police departments.  Riverdale confirmed that I paid $200, but Blue Island said I paid nothing.  I contacted my bank and brought Blue Island the cancelled checks, but I am still getting caslls from MCSI and they claim they will suspend my license if I dont pay.  Said they could not tell which tickets my money went to, but I don't have any other tickets.  How the hell am I supposed to file a complaint with the police when it is the police MCSI works for?  This is BS.

Got a call on Monday from MCSI telling me I owed money to Chicago Heights.  I explained that I paid that debt nearly two years ago.  Tuesday I took the cancelled check to their office in Palos Hts to prove I paid. They told me that the debt would remain on my credit report unless I paid them $100 cash.   They would remove the debt from my credit after I paid.  I will be filing a complaint with the Chicago Heights police.  total scam!!!

Just a note that this number turned out to be legit for me.  At first I thought it was a fraud call reading all of these posts and because they called me about a ticket from 14 years ago I'd never received.  However, I ended up calling the police station in the town issued (since I did live there 13 years ago) and they confirmed MCSI is the collection agency they use.  So, I called MCSI back and paid the bill.

Yikes... as I'm reading more of the posts it sounds like people pay and then get called again claiming they didn't.  Hope this doesn't happen.  This was for the Mundelein, IL police dept.  Curious if anyone else has received calls for Mundelein tickets?  Also, MCSI promised they would mail along a receipt of payment- did anyone else get confirmation of payment via the mail once they paid?

These people called my home [new number 45 days ago] claiming to be trying to contact my daughter.  The lady said it was about a "matter regarding the city of Pekin, IL".  She refused to provide information, and it took much prompting to get anything from her.  Her number isn't even from the same county - totally different area code.  Though no money was mentioned, it was obvious that this is where it was going.  A definate scam!!!

I was called by MCSI for a couple of tickets in Blue Island.  I was sure I paid these, so I contacted the police department directly.  They told me I still owed money, so I was prepared to pay.  It kept bothering me on the drive home, so I went back into my bank records and found the cancelled check I paid to Blue Island!  I went back in to the PD to show them proof, and they told me my check was actually sent to a collection agency and was never forwarded to the city?  Fortunately, I keep great records and found the number of the place I spoke to.  They sent me confirmation of the check and confirmation they sent the payment to Blue Island!!!  I did a Freedom of Information Act request to the city and they themselves provided me proof that I had paid the collection agency and they paid the city.  People, LISTEN UP!  If you think you paid, you probably did.  See the message above where the PD uses MCSI's software to determine whether or not someone paid.  This is a total scam

Had messages regarding owing a debt to a municipality.  Checked my credit report and saw MCSI making a claim that I owe $250.  I have had one parking ticket my entire life on my daughters car, which I co=signed.  I have proof I paid, so I called.  They agreed I had paid the ticket in 2009, but demanded $125 as their "credit bureau removal fee".

The debt was paid in 2009, listed on my credit three years later in error, now they want $125?  SCAM!!  I am calling the AG

I got a message on my cell phone saying it was MSI, and they were calling about a village or city issue.  I have no idea what this could be about, but I'm not returning the call.

I was called from this number and confirmed that I had the same name of the person they wanted, but I was 20 years older.  They politely said they would remove my phone number.  A month later, I got an alert that MCSI was on my credit bureau report.  I called them and again confirmed I am not the person they are looking for and demanded they remove the item from my credit.  They told me there was nothing they could do until the payment was made!  I have never seen anything like this in my life.

the person called MY BROTHER, why or how they got his number is beyond me.  This number has called me a few times with threats of owing all this money but anytime I ask them to send me an invoice they can't.  I just read up on places calling you and not producing any invoice of a bill they CLAIM you owe, THEY ARE SCAMS.

I continually receive messages from this number and am told this is a matter of an mcis village or county in my area. It is an automated message. When I answer the phone, no one replies.

MCSI contacted me last year regarding a Blue Island ticket that I knew I had paid.  I provided them proof of payment, and the calls stopped.  Earlier this year, I get a notice that the Illinois Comptrollers Office is withholding $250 from my paycheck (I work for the state).  I contacted Blue Island PD and they told me to contact MCSI.  I tried to explain that I already cleared it up with MCSI, but the PD said MCSI is the ones who submitted my ticket to the Comptroller.  I called MCSI again and they claimed we had never spoken before????  I had to prove again that I paid this ticket back in 2009, but I still do not have my money back.  MCSI is very dangerous with whatever political connections they have that have allowed this to happen to me.

so how does one proceed with stopping ROBO calls, let alone filing suit. They claim they are calling from a 'village or city near me' regarding recent break ins. Every other day for MONTHS.
