- 1wuserThese people have been calling me everyday all day for two years. They never say anything if you answer the phone so why are they calling me? I am going to block their phone number...it is all I can do. I have tried to tell them not to call and, if there is actually anyone on the other end of the phone, they are ignoring my requests.
I am on the do not call list as well. Another thing to do is get their tax exempt status pulled by the IRS. They are not collecting anything but irate citizens around the country. I do not think they are legitimate anyway. Who would run an orginization by prank calling people all day? - DragonflyThey are from a clothes donation organization. I had donated clothes before but they do not keep their appointment to pick up at later times. They call all the time. I just put their numbers on block list.

- CaseyThese people are cowards if they cannot talk to one on the phone. I put it on fax machine or block it. It is a scam. If they are on the level they would answer when phone is picked up. Don't answer these people until they learn how to speak.

- eddieWe donated 2 times and that was it and still get calls and have nothing to donate and asked to be taken off the calling list, however many times it will ring it is a robocall with a BEEP then hangs up, so computer calling automatically if in their database. My suggestion to them is please don't [***] the people who have helped you like us in the past. I live 4 blocks from Salvation Army and could easily drop off things there in future. We asked to be taken off the calling list obviously to no avail however. I am sure this non profit organization is doing God's work helping the many hundreds of people in Houston that need it (ie: thousands of kids going back to school need help; if you drive downtown thousands of people homeless living under bridges, and shelters in this [***] economy) but some of these folks get new or slightly new clothes and can go out and find work, a little dignity if you will. And it makes a huge difference with kids who otherwise would wear torn or dirty clothes (like I had to in elementary school in Corpus Christi, was poor as hell) so the charities make a difference. However! Please lay off the calls, there is better ways to solicit for donations of clothes, food, money than calling repeatedly to people who don't want to be bothered. PS: to the person above who said they don't pick up when supposed to, you are correct they came a day later to pick up out several big bags of slightly used clothes we donated. Good luck to everyone.

- anncGot a call from this number around 2 AM. Didn't wake me up, so checked the number later in the day. Listed as Houston Achievement Place. Have donated to them in the past and am on their email list. The 2 AM call, no doubt from some automatic messaging system, means they won't be getting any more donations from us. All they're doing with this persistent "needling" of potential donors is causing us to jump ship in droves. Bad marketing plan.

- Feel like SuingThis outfit calls at all hours nonstop. I feel like we are under siege. No legitimate "charity" would be engaging in tactics this aggressively harmful & unethical, would it? The website for the organization claimed by a commenter on this page does not list a non-profit board of directors or give an email contact to be removed from their list.
The arrogant suggestion by the Director here that victims of their telephone harassment are required to call them to request that they stop repeatedly disturbing our households at all hours is outrageous. They've already demonstrated they have no regard for the people they're calling. We should call them so they can sell our numbers to telescammers as confirmed to be active? I don't think so. How about you just stop making everybody's lives miserable, Mr. Guilford?
And really, should people have to beg a "charity" to stop victimizing people? They have to be told this?
Somebody needs to start a charity to help the victims of this "charity's" unethical fundraising practices.- Caller: Houston Achievement Place
