Caller ID read: BREA, CA - This was a robocall claiming to be Charlie from the State Resource Center regarding a final expense plan. I got similar calls like this from several different numbers in the past several weeks. There is absolutely no legitimate government program or entity called the "State Resource Center" that provides final expense plans. The name is entirely made up by scammers to sound official and trick people into letting their guard down. Persistent robocalls with offers to help with Funeral Expenses are widely reported as predatory phishing scams. Callers often use spoofed local numbers or AI bots to ask for personal details like your age or Medicare info, aiming to sell overpriced or fake burial policies.
