I got a robocall at our business number from this number with caller ID: BREA CA. This was regarding some sort of senior benefits. DO NOT SHARE PERSONAL DATA. This is likely a phishing scam. To minimize future spam, you can officially register your mobile or landline number with the FTC National Do Not Call Registry.

Being on the National Do Not Call Registry will eliminate spam from legitimate telemarketers, but will have absolutely no effect on calls from scammers, since that is just one more law for them to break.  Further, while many people consider these calls spam, political calls, charitable calls, legitimate debt collection calls, purely informational calls, and surveys are all exempt from the restrictions of the Do Not Call Registry, so being registered will not reduce such calls.
So, while going on the Registry may reduce the number of calls some after the initial 30 day waiting period, it will not "minimize future spam".
