This is a debt collector.  They are out of New York. The person I talked to is Joe Williams.  He has a deep distinct voice.  They claim there name is SELECT GLOBAL ASSETS.  Last year they used a different name which was Paul Jones and Associates.  Last yr 2011 I paid these people over 300.00 through my bank acct.  It was for a payday loan I owed a different company.   In any case I paid them in full and now they are calling saying I owe 260.00.  Be very leery before paying any debt you owe to debt collectors.  Get something in writing first.  I have copies of my bank transactions showing I paid in full so I don't care what they do.  FYI- THESE PEOPLE WILL CALL FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS to try to find you.

I got a call today from Joe Williams with SGA...I had the call traced and the phone number belongs to James Mckinney. I called information twice and they told me that SGA do not exist and that number belongs to a resident not a business. I called that number back 4 times and every time Joe Williams answered the phone. I asked for him to email me some information about SGA, he told me to wait until tomorrow becuase he was the only person there at that time. I asked for an address and Joe gave me a P.O. Box, but I asked for a physical adress and it was different then the one given by information.

If this person has left a voicemail, transfer the voicemail onto a CD or cassette. Transcrip the call and send it to the Federal Communications Commission and the Attorney General's Office along with James McKinney's name, phone number and address. You can also send a certified copy of the letter to James McKinney but don't send him a copy of the voicemail. Only the FCC and Attorney General's Office should receive a copy of the voicemail recordings. The more information we can provide to the FCC and Attorney General's Office, the sooner these people can be put out of business.

I received a call from Tim Michaels from Chris James and Associates.  He is calling my house and my family homes.  When I called during the evening time a gentleman answer the phone with a "hello", but when I called during the day at different times the gentleman would say "SGA Associates" or Chris James and Associates (which is a Marketing IT company).   I have placed a complaint with FTC and the Office of the Attorney General Office for North Carolina.  Apparently he is using the same phone number, but different name and company name when he trying to scam people.  They are a total scam!!

I returned call to 716-236-7541 today. They have contacted four of my family members trying to reach me. After a long spill about how I was under investigation for check fraud and bank fraud and something else they tell me i am to pay them $774 for a check i wrote to a payday loan place. Eventually they agreed to accept two payments within 60 days but one had to be today in the amount of $300. They said the check had my thumb print on it. I asked them to fax or email me a contract with the payment arrangement and that i am freed of all legal liability and they couldnt do that. i told them they could speak to my attorney. i was put on hold while they supposedly called the company to try to get approval for the agreement. During this time I had been texting my lawyer about it and he called while i was on hold with them. I patched him through on a conference call. he took care of it from there. They werent ready for him. Long story short....THIS IS A SCAM!!! I believe that these people actually probably were employed at this payday loan place in 2008 and they stole our files with all our info in it including our social security numbers and references or family members and their phone numbers. The stated that they only accepted payments through prepaid debit cards. No  Money Orders. No Western Union or Money Gram. BE SMART PEOPLE!!!! IF IT SOUNDS LIKE A SCAM IT PROBABLY IS A SCAM!!!

I finally returned the call to 716-236-7541.  The message was by a 'Joe Williams'.  He said he was a paralegal with SGA Associates.  They called my ex-mother-in-law (from 8 years ago) to get my number.  Joe Williams said this was related to a matter of Fraud that was connected to my social security number.  He said I had taken out a cash advance from 1st American Cash Advance in 2003.  

Joe Williams gave me a docket number and said it was a particular county courthouse in Louisiana.  He blew it because Louisiana doesn't use counties.  I called the county court house and they sent my call to the local police department who confirmed the docket number I was given was NOT a docket number they used.

When I told Joe Williams the docket number was not one used by that specific area, he then changed his story to say it was an internal reference number.

If this were a 'real' fraud case, it would have been filed with the court house within 90 days not 9 years later.

When asked about the 9 years, he said it was getting ready to fall off, which gave me another clue as to him being merely a debt collector.

If this person portrays anyone except who he really is, he is committing FRAUD and you should warn him as well as pursue it.

Joe Williams is not the correct name of the person with the phone number.  The correct name is James McKinney.  So, James is lieing to each of us, which is FRAUD.  He needs to be held accountable for his purposeful deceit.

Your an idiot who is out giving people bad information. James McKinney is an older disabled man who had the phone # befor we got it. His family has contacted us because some idiot is giving out his information. If you have a problem with who the Phone# is listed too, call Time Warner Cable. They are the ones who gave us Mr McKinneys # and have told us they cant change the # in the directories we just have to wait till they update there accounts. Grow up and stop posting garbage thats not true.

I recieved a call from you office a few days ago. I Returned your call today and Joe this is the same story you told me . Well as I told your people I work for the Media and I'm investgating you and you Company and so fall it seems that you may have been untruthful in some of your statements. I have contacted a local TV station there in N.Y to help me in my investigation and they have sign on so it is just a matter of time before I'm able to stop you and your company from the scaming the public. So far I have found a  JAMES A MCKINNEY in your area with a criminal record. His last know address is in the same area.

i had a problem with these [***] some time over a year ago ...i called em to see what they wanted ...told em who i was and they started getting all kinds a nasty n told me they would keep calling me till i settled a so called issue that they wanted settled ....i told em ..OHH HELL NO YOU WONT IM HAVING MY PHONE NUMBER CHANGED ....which i did do ...now...im wondering over a Year later.... how the heck they got my cell phone number ...which by the way is a pre pay cell phone....if any one can find out how these S.O.B,S get private phone numbers then let me know and give me a heads up .......this time today when they called and left a voice mail.. i called em back they asked to speak to me but i told em i was some one else n they had a wrong number but i told em i had the case number that was left on the voice mail they asked for it n i gave it to them  ...but they would not give me any info because they think it was not me calling em back...so i told em well if you know so much then call the person your looking for..they said ohh we will find them for sure n i told em ....WELL HAPPY HUNTING BUT DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK NO MORE ...I know how to deal with these [***] ...they talked to me but didnt know it was me they were talking to ...HA HA HA HA ,,,,

0hh one more little message to pass a long to you all is this....in my state ..if you ever borrowed money from a check cashing type of service where u borrow per say ...300 bucks by letting em hold a personal check ..and they expect you to pay back 345 bucks .. and other issues come up to where you are not able to pay em back...then after 3 years go by there is nothing they can do about it ....i found that out from a personal experience  i had with one of em ....that a heads up for every one who lives in my state

I recieved a call today from a 716-299-0139 this morning left a voice mail said his name was ted micheals from sga& associates calling about fraud ect..i am assuming it from a payday loan from 07 or 08...which i figure the only reason they are calling is because it's about to fall off and if it was a true fraud case they would have come after me more than 5 yrs ago.

My ex husband received a call today from 716-236-7541 asking for me.  Yet they did not call me first.  Curious why they would call him and not me but oh well.  Stan Matthews was this gentleman's name stating he was looking for me in regards to some fraud I had committed.  I figured this was a scam so I Googled the number and here am I with the rest of you who received the same call different names.

I called Mr. Stan Matthews back and he was conveniently in a meeting and the man asked if there was something he could help me with.  I gave him my name and he seemed to be confused on how to spell my last name.  So we went over that 3 times.  He asked me if this was my number which I said yes.  When I asked him what this was about he said he could not discuss because it was not his case....
So I told him to leave Stan a message not to call anyone but me and if this is about a debt from the past years I filed BK so he better make sure he has the right person.  We shall see if I receive a call back.
I also asked for the man's name who I was talking to and I think he said Tim or Ted Michaels....

A deep voice individual informed me he needed to talk about an important matter and the future.  He said he was looking for someone named Tammy XX, which is not my name.  He did ask for my name twice, then hung up.

Wow.  This guy gets around.  Calling me about Check fraud.  finally called the court house just to make sure and they do not have a case in civil or criminal.  COURT SAID NOT TO SEND MONEY TO THIS GUY. we live in ohio.

Filing a complaint with the Attorney General.  Who ever this jerk is....He wont give me a name.  Just keeps saying hes delivering a supena but never does.  It is quite fun to yell at this dude, but i wouldl rather not have him calling my house.
