Sorry, but the do not call list will not stop calls like this. They assume you are the party they want and you will have to prove you are not to get the calls to stop. The Do Not Call Registry is of no use in this situation. Good luck!

Check their BBB status. They are not members of the Mellville BBB, but their business rating is a D-.
That should say it all. They have some government action against them for their collection tactics. So, I would stay away from them as all costs and challange everything they do and keep detailed records. It may help you in the long run. They want the money and will do anything to get it.

In January, 2010, we got a new (unlisted) phone number.  Our bills are current and there is no reason for any debt collector to call us.  However, my guess is the last person with our number wasn't as diligent or lucky or he/she lied on an application and listed a false phone number.   Last month we started getting calls from 716-751-4053 asking for someone with the last name of Willow.  We do not know this person and have advised this company of that fact.  They keep calling and never identify themselves which I think is a violation of the Fair Credit Debt Collection Act.  Finally, I blocked their number.  Today the phone rang once and the block worked (it shows up as "blocked call"), and this number is the only one that is blocked.  The person they are looking for does not live here and we do not know him or her.  Those facts will never change no matter how often they call.  

My concern with writing the CEO of this company is from what I've read hear filing FTC complaints hasn't made a dent in the way they operate.  How do I know they won't alter the debtor's files and slip my address from the letter in?   Has anyone had success getting them to stop?

This number calls me at least once a day. I talk to the same guy every day. I tell him I have no idea who Pam is, this is my new number, but he calls back again and again. As soon as I tell him I am not the person he's looking for, he hangs up on me without any explanation... and calls again the next day! I have registered my number with the national do not call list because of this guy - and am now reporting harassment!

These calls are from Oxford Management. In my case they want to collect a sum of money without fact or reason. I demanded a invoice or something in writing. They refuse to send any supporting documentation. They are very brash in demanding money. If I did have an outstanding bill all I want is supporting proof.  Tell them when they call that you are recording them and they will generally hang up.

This caller doesn't say anything - just lets the airwaves sound. Not sure who it is, since it shows as an unknown caller.

They are harassing me too.  Call a Attorney,  I did today.........they WILL NOT Stop.  Ask them for proof and they say that it takes 30 days to receive anything.  They started with me on 3-19-2010.  CALL A ATTORNEY.....(GOOD LUCK)

I have got a call from this number at least once a day most days for the last month or two.  They never leave a message and I don't pick up numbers I don't know.  However it is getting annoying.  Ain't caller ID great?

The caller when my machine picked up had a television on in the background, and children playing in the room. So these calls are coming from home based employees. Geesh, you would think that whom ever they are working for would have work principals in place. No company name comes up when they call in, just hang up without leaving a message.

I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST, will see what I can do, as they never ask for anyone or leave a message.
