Called and left a message saying they were with some firm wanting to do a brief survey about the 2016 election, are you a registered voter, press 1 for yes, 2 for no.. Then hung up.

This number calls every day, several times per day.  We don't pick it up as it is an unknown number.  They never leave a message

called twice within 8 minutes. I don't answer calls like this. I can block unlimited numbers on my cell, but unfortunately I can only block up to 30 numbers on my landline phone (it's built in) maybe I need to buy are more up-dated phone that blocks a ton of numbers. I'm sick and tired of these types calls and others one of which is a low-life collection agency trying to collect on two debts from 25 years ago that was written off in a bankruptcy and my credit today is just fine since I've quadrupled checked my credit reports and there is nothing on it in regards to what they are attempting to TRY to collect -- which is ILLEGAL.  I just plain don't answer any numbers that I don't recognize. Who ever mentioned they have AT&T and was blocking a ton of numbers.. they are limited as well as far as landlines go... if your talking about your cell phone that makes perfect sense. However, I've yet to see any landline phone that can block more than 80 numbers -- and that just MIGHT be enough and worth the investment.
