I received call from this number on my mobile device. caller mentioned he is calling from wells fargo and wanted to verify a transaction on my debit card, The way call started , it felt a bit suspicious with caller accent and also mentioning am i travelling or not twice- want to really know if any one else got call from this number and if they verified if this is legitimate wells fargo department number or some scam/fraudster?

Very suspicious.  Call back got "I'm sorry, the person you are calling has a voicemail box that has been set up yet.  Please try your call again later."  One might expect a professional banking corporation such as Wells Fargo to do a bit better with it's fraud line, wouldn't you say?  However, just to be safe, if you do have a Wells Fargo account, call the number on your card and ask to be transferred to the fraud department.  If there is a problem they will know about it.  You could also call the published number on the website or use the customer portal.  If you learn anything more, I hope you'll post back.  Cheers.
