I owe lots of people money, so I'm sure that is what it is. I just never answer. If a debt collector doesn't even leave me a message, I assume it's a scam telemarketer and ignore it. And if they leave a message, well , I ignore that too!
I've been through bankruptcy and have dealt with lots of debt collectors. When I used to answer the phone they'd give me all kinds of crap about taking me to court and so on. Now I know the way it works and I just tell them to go ahead and do that, we'll see who ends up on top! Even if they do, and I know they won't, I just won't pay, and they'll have to take me to court again and so on. I almost feel bad for those Credit Card debt mongers, but they made money off me before I stopped paying!
I didn't know they had to send documentation, that's good to know.
Whenever I settle one of my debts I always demand it in writing, they hate that, and usually don't do it, so I don't pay. The next time they call, I say I'm still waiting for the documentation....usually, I offer them 25% of the debt, heck, they're already offering one third off! I never settle for more than half.
They say you can't avoid the calls for ever, but it's over 2 years now, and not one of my many collection agencies has done anything but call and try to harass me. And every time they sell my debt, it get's smaller. My $6,000 credit card debt is down to "3 easy payments of $1500" and I know they'll come down more.

These guys seem to run in spurts judging from the time stamps in the messages above.  This call came in on my cell phone ... I ignore any calls that I cannot identify.  Left no message.  Thanks for this service.

I have gotten 2-3 calls from this number. They leave no message. Virginia Call pops up on the ID. I have tried calling back, and get no answer

Scam. Just received call wouldnt give any info except to call back. said serious problem in this office, wouldnt say what CRA stood for

Just got a call from this number as well. I spoke with a Donna Carter, she was very pleasant but was looking for my husband with "a very urgent issue that he may not be aware of". I told her I couldn't help her because I'm not able to give information for others over the phone. If she wanted further information she could mail us. I told her she should have our current address on file. She just asked for my husband to give her a call back this morning. Yeah ok...I'm on it... NOT!

So they call my cell phone.....I ask who they are...... belligerent...rude black man on the phone could not tel me anything....I said it.s reported online you are a scam collector..he said I.m a scam..then told me never call his office again....I should.nt of but I told him to screw off....called back it seems someone named Patricia owes some money. Not even my problem.....my number is recycled.

Seriously ..these people need to be dealt with...in a real [***] kickin' kinda way.

Recieved a call from these weirdos

Just recieved a call from this same bocus comepany, demanding my last four digit ss #. Before i spoke they provided it to me over the phone, and  demand to know if it belongs to me. I then asked what CRA stands for, they told me they were affiliated with federal gov.  I asked for proof, and asked how they got my ss#, they ignored me and kept on going about collecitng my debt. from 2002.  I kept on demanding them to identify themselves, and they kept on ignoring my demands.  When i menitoned contacting my lawyer, they quickly hang up the phone.  I tried calling them back but the number listed above is no longer in service.  These people have to be stopped and be prosecuted.

got a call from 757-941-4753 about a past account they had my ss and address the number shows up for williamsburg, va, the company is called CRA- consumer recovery assoc., llc based in va beach the number is 757-368-3622

they also use 877-704-9458.  the ladies name was mrs. willus.  wanted my husband OR his representative to call them back.

I ask the rude a*** what it stands for and he said C R and Associates

got the same call today mon.at 5pm the timestamp of recorded message was for sun 334pm . i called back asked what company this was, they replied with a rude what is your name, i told them no name unless they tell me what they wanted needless tosay they hung up. other numbers for same company 877-704-9458 and 757-368-3622

got the same call and they had my last four of my ssn then they put me on hold, I hung up.

I recieved a call from 757-941-4753 this morning. A woman asked for me (using my maiden name), and introduced herself as an agent for CRA.

She actually had the last 4 digits of my social, and wanted me to verify it. She claimed to be calling about a breach of contract of some sort. I asked again where she was calling from, and when I said I wasn't familiar with CRA, she hung up on me.

Do NOT verify any information with these people. Something isn't right!

Called my home, hung up on me, so I called them back. Took 5 minutes for someone to answer (on hold). Warey, I didn't even offer to state my name. They admitted to calling, said they were looking for someone named Antonio Vargas. I said I do not know anyone by that name, and they said they would take my phone number 'off the list'.

got a call today from this number on my home phone but didn't answer it and I don't have voicemail. What's odd is that I just noticed that they had also called my cell phone number a few minutes after they called home but didn't leave a message on my cell phone. Don't know who they could be. Sounds like a scam to me. Just worries me that they had both my numbers.

just got a call from the same # wanted the last 4 # of ss i refused,didn't hang around to see what they wanted

They called my grandma telling us they were taking us to court for never paying back 300 bucks we borrowed from Wachovia... there isn't a Wachovia near my town at all and had never even heard of the bank till just then. When we called the number back they wouldn't even give us basic information except "Want to hear your options." Obviously fraud.

Didnt say anything. Just hung up.
