I received the call one evening and they asked me if I was Sue - I said yes and they hung up. Felt very scammy. They called my cell phone - so I immediately made a contact with their number in it with the name "Dont answer- solicitor" - so far I have received 2 calls from that number - but I refuse to answer the call - because I'm sure the next question will b verifying my SS#.

I disagree with a previous comment - I believe they could just be verifying that numbers actually exist so just remember the number and ignore it.  I would tell others that you know so they can "ignore it as well".  They are fishing for some reason - I doubt if it is a good one.

If you have no clue why they called, do the following.

On the first call, collect as much information as possible.

Name and account.  go find an obituaries with same first and last name.  Get date, call them back and say they died and you read that x and y name died, as you read it online.
