Today, call to my land-line at 11:10 Pacific.
It was a company that does surveys for their clients.

Rec'd 2 calls today from this # (778-357-3916) showing on my landline call display.  I didn't answer, but both appeared as having left a voice msgs (on Telus voice mail).  I listened to both.  They were not "hang-ups", but several seconds of dead air space.  I blocked this number.

I'm getting calls from this number constantantly.  I never answer and they never leave a message.  It's getting BEYOND annoying!

Caller ID listed as BC SPCA but also potential spam. Google search shows it is not the BCSPCA's number.

Call back gets, "Hello, you have reached Strategic Communications.  We conduct research, fund raising and advocacy on behalf of not-for-profit clients.  If our number appeared on your call display, we were calling as part of a campaign on behalf of one of these clients."  Goes on to tell that they may call again but gives you options for being added to the DNC list for that particular campaign and for being removed from the company wide call list.  This is probably why you did not find this number listed as the BC SPCA.  Strategic Communications itself is not a not-for-profit company.

Said they were calling from BCSPCA. Used to different name in same message.

I blocked this number but it still keeps getting through somehow. Caller ID reads as "BCSPCA", but when I answer the phone or they leave a voicemail, it's always silent on their end.

It is a company that calls on behalf of charities.  They are called strategic communications. Please scroll back and read my post from March 6.  If you call the number it tells you how to be removed from the internal DNC list.

I asked to be removed and I am still getting these nuisance calls.  We are already donating monthly to the SPCA!  This is very annoying.

I think I see the problem.  Call back gets, "Hello, you have reached Strategic Communications." It goes on to explain that they conduct research for non-profit organizations.  It also instructs you to enter your 10 digit phone number to be removed from the campaign calling list.  Therein lies the problem.  It says, press 1 to be removed from this campaign, press 2 to leave a voice message and PRESS 3 to be placed on the company wide DNC list.  Give it a try.  If you pressed 1 previously, it may not have placed you on the entire company DNC list just on the current campaign's DNC list.  If you give it a go, please post back and let the community know if it worked.  Cheers.
