I have blocked this caller because it's some type of rubbish marketing. My policy is anyone who doesn't have caller ID and doesn't leave a message is automatically blocked.

I'd like to strangle the people who sell phone numbers to these scumbags.

Its the second time this number has called in 2 days im sick of it. Wpg mb resident. No message. Didnt answer.

Got a call at 14.45 EST (I'm in Ontario). Was on another call at the same time and, based on the other reviews, thankfully didn't answer. And not calling back!

Google 'Spoofing Caller ID'!!!  All of these callers are using this type of calling.  Being on the 'Do Not Call List' or using your phone carrier's blocking system does no good as the callers/scammers just change one number of the phone number they used the previous time they called. If the companies offering the spoof call numbers were outlawed it would cut down on the unwanted calls.  Pass this information on to your friends.

After close to 100 of these calls since November 2013 and almost getting caught by one of them, I have learned to ignore any call that is 'unknown', 'private' or phone number only.  If it is a legitimate call they will leave a message.

To give yourself stress relief after one of these calls go to YouTube and look up 'telephone scammers.  These videos are a hoot!!!!

Do you post ads on various sites? eg. k i j j i??? if your number is online. they will scan it. even FB. i post ads for my business and get these damn calls all the time.

just got a call at 3:15pm no text response. i live in bc but i do noy know who that is.

Just received a call from this number here in Calgary.  Let it go to voice mail and they didn't leave a message.  Another one to add to my blocked list!!

I do not answer unknown numbers, especially when they don't leave a message for me to call them back.  No message so no call back.

I have been receiving calls from 778-654-3234.  How do I stop this nonsense.  Can someone please give me some advice.  Thanks

Robo caller. They just war dial from a hacked voip number so you cant trace it back and have them blocked. Probably calling from Nigeria.

It should be illegal for people to call a number, if Telus or other companies are aware of doing a form of harrassing calls to all different phone numbers!

It should be, but it would be impossible to enforce. The best bet is to own call blocking telephones. My system can block 30 callers, but it's not enough. They should also allow pattern blocking where you could block all 800 numbers. I'm waiting for the technology.

Hey Bill, I don't know what kind of phone you have, but my Samsung GS3 allows me to block number using options like "contains" or "Starts with"... so blocking anything that starts with 1-778-654, for instance, routes anything coming in from that prefix to VMail immediately and I don't even hear it ring. If by chance it were a legit call, they could still leave a message.

Received call and let it go to voicemail with no message being left.

Just received a call from this number today , May 6th at 430 MST...left no message

Called me on March 18, 2014 @12:11 pm. Wasn't home to answer it and don't have voicemail/answering machine. Probably a good thing.

For the past 4 weeks I got no "telemarketing" or "scammer" call me. But right after the provincial election over, calls start to came in again. All those 4 weeks I only got political robo calls form 2 major parties. At first, I just block the numbers right after I pick up the first call. But strange things happen, they begin to switch phone numbers to call me. Using the same method as the "telemarketing" or "scammer". In curiosity, I research all those political robo call numbers. The numbers that the PC party use were previous calling people for debit consolidation just a month ago. The robo call numbers use by Liberal party were calling people for air duct cleaning and Bahama Cruise before.  From those numbers, people at the forum say those call center were in India or Pakistan. I always feel skeptical about this theory, cause they never call me on Labour day, Good Friday or Victoria Day. Are those days also a statutory holiday In India and Pakistan too? Furthermore, I think there is a rule say no outside of the country help/assistance for the provincial election. So that make those call centers are located within Canada not outside.  I did contact both candidates, ask them who they hired for the robo calls. (I am not on DNCL, my number is unlisted, the only origination know my full name, address and phone number is Revenue Canada and Election Canada). So I think the call center use the voters list instead of DNCL to call us. One candidate say he did not hired anyone to call me(what a liar). The other candidate say he can not tell me, instead what he can do for me is to ask the call center to remove my number form their data bank permanently. Right after the contact, I did get less calls. Almost cutting half of the amount. I got 2 to 3 calls per week instead of everyday.
Maybe that's why CRTC never can get rid of the call center.
