Good for nothing [***] disrupt our lives with no conscience - why does the government not pursue them for once and put the same effort into prosecuting these scammers as they do into checking into every aspect of OUR lives?

Got a call at 3AM in early August 2012, and another one tonigh August 29th, at 9PM. An automated voicemail - in English - from Rebecca or Roberta from Constant Research Network.

Called me on August 23rd. I didn't answer.  If I don't recognize the number, I don't pick up the phone. It's as simple as that.

Getting those calls to stop is quite simple.

 1. If you don't recognize the number, don't answer the phone!
 2. Do NOT, I repeat--DO NOT press '1' or '3' or '9' or whatever number they provide, that will supposedly have your number taken off their calling list. When you press that number, all it does is verify that your phone number is valid, and you will receiver even more calls.
 3. Repeat the process ad nauseum.

They'll make three or four tries and if nobody answers, then the number is flagged as 'inactive' or ' invalid' and will be dropped off their list.  It takes a while but eventually the calls DO stop.

There's no point in reporting these calls to the CRTC or FCC or Fraudbusters, since the number is spoofed and the calls can't be traced anyways... so save your time and effort on something worthwhile.

My Mom got a call from this number and there was a charge on her phone  "LD network connection fee" of $2.95 plus long distance charges of 78 cents.  I don't know if she pushed a number on her phone or what happened exactly, but I am very teed off about it.  She's 83 years old and doesn't hear well at all.
