They sent me a letter saying that they were The State of California and that I owe State taxes, which I do, but I suspect this is a scam. They wanted me to call that number by 11/15/2024 because my property was going to be seized.

It show the links for every type of tax department.  Get the number for the department associated with the type of tax you owe.  Call the department and find out if they, in fact, sent the letter, what you owe and how to pay it.  Most states have mechanisms for assisting you with the process.  I don't know if the letter you received is legitimate but it would be a good idea to call the number published on the website.  I doubt this is the number for the state tax collector as call back, gets music and after a long wait, "all our agents are busy with other customers, at the tone please leave a message."  Doesn't sound like a government phone system to me.  Whitepages .com says there are 144 reports of this number as SCAM and gives it a High Risk Spam rating.
