8:20pm no one on line but a search says it is scam call posing as BC Hydro power company requesting money to avoid disconnecting electrical service to residence.

My mistake. Actually BC Hydro automated message a few days ago to tell of a power outage planned soon. Had another call today without identifying number so didn't realize it was previous saved call number and searched online to find scammers are also using same number to scare people by saying they owed money on electrical bill and power will be cut off unless paid immediately. My call was legitimate and second call is from unknown private number.

Scam call! Pretending to be Toronto hydro Technician! Trying to scare with electricity disconnection order.

They said they were from BC Hydro and then proceeded to ask me some questions ,like do I live in the house and do you have any tenants.I got mad after answering personal question about my co-owner

It is the published number for BC Hydro but any number can be spoofed.  Always best to be certain to whom you are speaking before giving any info.  Initiating the call yourself will help avoid scams.
