They charged my credit card

It is supposed to be a medical alert company.

Scammed by this phone number

an unknown person contacted me to sell monthly service for  a free Medical Alert device  in case of emergency situation for the amount $119.99 every three months charged to my credit card.  I think this phone number 1 800 247 safe ( 7233)  a scam because I never received a conformation email.

This number called my 80 year old Mom on a Sunday. She gave them her check number and information. Whaaaaa?! Ughhhh. I don't think this is the legit Life Protect 24/7.

When I google the number it takes me to the website of the same name.  Try doing that and see if you think it is a trustworthy site and/or company.   You might also want to go to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) site.  This company has reviews there.  As to whether the person that called is actually a rep of the company is difficult to know as numbers can be spoofed.

They said they were from life protects I qualify for a free device but the monthly service was $49.95 I gave them my credit card information and I've been trying to call that number back ever since to cancel it and all it does is ring and hang up

They also have a "help" link that can be used to get an email response.
I did not find this number listed anywhere on their site.  So you might first try the published number.  If that fails, you may want to contact your CC company.  As I posted before, numbers can be spoofed so first find out if this was, in fact the Lifeprotect company that called.
