They've just started calling regularly. We have no capital one cards -- didn't take the call -- but it is really annoying to have your phone ringing all the time and not feel comfortable to answer it.

Guess I'll file the FCC FTC complaint again, thanks for letting me know that's who it is.

These people call all the time, despite the fact that I am on the Do Not Call list. They stated my mother's name (I've lived in another state for 10 years) and asked if I knew her. When I asked what it was about, the guy repeatedly said it was a "lead." They left a "message code" with me to give to her.

I believe this is a criminal enterprise that specializes in identity theft.  Reveal nothing to them.  If they were a legitimate company, they would know who they are calling.

Same as some of you, I have no capitol One card and the phone number is on the Do Not Call Registry.  This is criminal behavior.

this is the same caller as nco 609-373-1904. Never leaves a message just calls all hours of the day or night. I have nothing to do with Capital     One.

They have called twice in thirty minutes. NO message.

Third time in as many days.  Female voice leaves a garbled message and the phone number 800-260-5570.  I do not have callerID so no info from that end.  Never had a Capital One account and never will.  So they can talk to my recorder and I can delete their message every time.

Have received about 7 calls over the last 7 days from this number.  My 14 year old son answered it last night - he wanted to "talk" to the solicitor for the fun of it.  They asked for a roommate of mine from 20 years ago!!!  Looks like Capital One is looking for her and search reports have showed us at the same number 20 years ago and they're wondering if I know her current number.  What a blast from the past though!!!

I got at least 15 missed calls in 3 days over the weekend from 8002605570 at my work number. When I  answered the 16th call, I got a recording  saying something like "All our reps are busy, please hold the line". The a lady came on line, and she was barely audible (sounded like a cheap VoIP connection) asking for someone (whose name I could barely comprehend). I did not answer and the line got disconnected.

If this is legitimate, a "proper" message will be left behind. I suspect this to be some kind of scam.

Just got a call asking for my EX-WIFE we have not lived under the same roof for 20 years. I don't know what they are looking for......

I continually get calls from this number about my sister in law. I am not sure how they got my cell number. What is this all about?

Called 30 times in the last40 days.

No message by voicemail but I previously reported calls from this number but I looked in my records and see an additional 218 calls spread throughout the last 7,5 months. This is additional to the previously reported 30 calls I stated just minutes ago.

We always let the phone ring until the recorder answers. Sometimes they leave a message, most of the time it's a hangup. This number was the call back number. They don't ask for any specific person by name.
During the day, I set the ringer for 6 rings before the recorder turns on. That way I can use up as much phone time from them as possible. If they pay by the minute then it costs them more. I don't care.
I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of knowing that anyone actually heard their message.
On days when there are no calls, I start missing the attention. They can call for 20 years for all I care.

Caller called my mother in law asking for info on my husband.  When she wouldn't give it they asked for our home phone number.  She asked for their number, then called me with it.  

When I called the number they didn't identify themselves but rather asked me for my 16 digit account number.  They then told me who they were.  I told them that I thought they were a bogus company because they had not gone through the proper channels for verifying who I was.  

After they hung up on me, I called Capital One directly and was told that they had not called anyone in reference to my account and that it was neither over the limit or past due!  She will pass this on to the fraud unit!  PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER TO THESE PEOPLE!!

I too keep getting calls from this number. 5 to 6 times a day......UGH GO AWAY

calls are for an old owner of this cell phone number dummies.i have never given my cell phone number out. i just got it in march 2011. they filled up my voicemail on hold twice when i left my cell phone off. if i reject they dont leave message. and i start my outgoing meassage with SIT tones.

i think, according to the FDCPA, it is illegal for debt collectors to call cell phones as it makes the amount owed higher having to spend cell phone $. basically it is making the debt more without going through proper legal channels, which is a no no. so thell them they are calling a cell phone and you think they are in violation of FDCPA.

Once a debt passes beyond the statute of limitation in your state, a debt collector no longer has the right to sue you for payment. You may still have a moral obligation to pay back an old, forgotten debt, but you can't be sued over it. Any debt collector who threatens to sue you over a debt that is beyond the statute of limitation in your state is in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

She called me this morning asking for my son. Who is 33 and living on his own with his family and 4 kids . Why would she call my number when she should have his on file. She wanted me to give me my son's Cell phone # too but  that was on speed dial. I asked her 3 times who was calling and at the end she said Carny. She did give me her phone # which i had on my Id caller. I checked the number here and found out it was Capital One calling She should have said that in the first place.

I don't trust people who can't Identify then selves.
