called again in a month. didnt pick up. no message left.

Call back got "Thank you for calling Optima Communications on behalf of Scotia Bank."  Of course numbers can be spoofed so it's difficult to know if it was, indeed, a call on behalf of Scotia Bank.  The best way to deal with such calls is to hang up and call the number on your bank card or the published number to find out if the bank is trying to reach you.  Sometimes banks hire third parties to cover notifications or service offers but again, if you are unsure, call the bank's published number.  Don't be too concerned about them knowing your name.  If it was your bank it's reasonable that they would have your name and number.  If it was some scam attempt they probably gleaned your number from a paid website or purchased list.  Scotia Bank has a "scam awareness" page that you may want to read.
