Have been recieving calls from this number for Amy Mohamed, No-one by that name here, called it back and removed my number. Hopefully they wont call back!

Once again, these poopheads called me and left a robomessage. I am thinking about giving them a dose of their own freaking medicine!

Telemarketers are getting clever.  They are using loopholes to avoid the Telephone Consumer Protection Act 47 U.S.C. § 227 passed by congress in 1991. Here are some links to help you hold them to it:

Now here is an eye opener.  Typical false statements they used:  
1) we are returning your call…
2) per your request…
3) the “shooting fish in a barrel” tacktic, pretend to call the wrong number, eventually they will hit a fish (buyer).
No matter how the conversation starts, they will be introducing you to a product or service, period.

The latest and more sneaky approach:  A two stage call, depending the source from where they got your information (credit application; candy store, car raffle, internet order, radio station preference, etc…), a seemingly innocent, and sometimes fun 5 question survey will be presented to you; of course, at least 1 or 2 questions will be directly related to create a potential telemarketing profile.  Usually these calls are fast (1 min). But in a couple of weeks, depending on the “innocent survey” answers you gave, especially if you gave a name to them, they will be calling you with an introduction and product tailored more to your needs, making these telemarketing calls more successful and truly appear like they are not “returning your call”.  The links provided above gives you very good tips on how to handle your private information and/or unsolicited calls.

Something to keep in mind.  There are many unemployed people, especially young adults starting off, many don’t wish to take on jobs like these (soliciting), but hunger or fear of hunger will drive many to do so.  There will ALWAYS be people willing to take on those jobs, so, screaming at or getting angry to the caller is really only hurting you (health) and maybe, maybe hurting them a little, while the really culprits are the companies running, developing and using telemarketing services.  So, do as the links I included above say, be calm, get info, then take action and get the companies to write you a check for each incident.  Filing the forms, showing up to small claims and submitting your judgment for payment may take all in all 10 hours, on average that can be anywhere from $50 to $100 per hour invested.  I'm not sure about you, but I don’t know many people that get paid $100 an hour, except maybe those telemarketer’s CEO’s, lol.

11:15AM CST  They may have left a message but don't care.  Anyone that is an unknown caller or ashamed of who they are don't need to call here.  Someone's been calling for our neighbor again and even got a call for a women that lived in our complex several years ago.

They kept calling for Ronald Trejo, I don't know anyone by that name. I have not changed my number recently so I just assume people who plan on not paying their bills use random numbers.

I called the company back and pressed option 1 to be removed. It was very easy to be removed, we'll see if it works.

Calls 5 times a day. This is ridiculous! Just got our home phone and they already started with spam calls!!! I will be calling and getting our number removed.

This stupid number has literally called me everyday for the past 2 months. The weekend pisses me off the most because they have called me as early as 7 in the morning. They always let it go to voicemail and then hang up so I always end up with a voicemail of a phone hanging up. These people are pieces of sh*t.

that need to put me on the do not calling list no body lives here by that name so put this number on the do not calling list thank you.

They keep calling me and I don't even have Credit at all

We keep getting unwanted calls from Tel:  (800) 278-2420.  Today, I called them requesting that my phone number be taken off their call list.  A staffer named Shirley told me she will do it immediately as we speak.

They keep calling for a Mandi Parker whe have told them that she dose not leave here and they have the wrong number and to stop calling us. We recive a call at least once a day from them. They dont seem to get the hint that I dont know this person.

I thought robocalls were illegal? And I thought the caller ID had to be valid?

I usually ignore calls from #'s I don't know and without a caller ID.  Since I'm working from home today, I've gotten 1/2 dozen calls alone this morning.  3 were hang ups, one was from a carpet cleaner, another was aluminum siding and then there was this one - a robocall.  Press 1 if you are so & so, Press 2 if you are not.  I press 2.  Press 1 if you need time to get so & so to the phone.  Press 2 if so & so is not home.  Press 3 if this is a wrong #.  I pressed 3.  Let's see if that works.

I don't think it's legal for them to give you that kind of information when you are not the person they're looking for.

trust me. they will call again. I got the same polite person promising to "take my name off the call list"  yeah right. 3 days later more calls. Now I just let it ring.

by the way the do not call complaint # is 1-888-382-1222. just call and follow the prompts.

Received a call from this number, automated voice asks if I am Karen ******* to press 1 if not press 2 I pressed 1 and it said to hold for an operator and switched to music. I am on a cell phone and pay for mins I am not holding for any operator plus my phone number is on the no call list
