Received a phone call from this number. There was a recording that said "please hold for an important message from BB&T." A man then came on the line and fed me some personal information regarding my wife (did not give a representative ID) and I said "yes, the recording said there was an important message, what's the message?" The individual on the other line hung up on me without saying a word. Her account is in good standing, though now we have moved to a state that does not have many if-any accessible branches, a rude call interrupting my Sunday is the final bit of causality to encourage us to liquidate and close our accounts. USAA (now open to everyone, not just the Military) has the best customer service I have ever seen in business, but specifically in a financial institution.

Scammers! Pretending to be BB&T. We get these recordings all the time. Just one of many numbers they use.

This number called me and left a voice mail claiming to be from bbt. Not sure if i should call back after everyone claiming these are scammers. There has been another 1 800 number that has also been calling me repeatedly with a recording in some type of asain language. I have no clue what they are saying nor how they got a hold of my number.

Got a call about an important message from BB&T but then after 10 seconds of silence, call ends. These scammers are getting dumber and dumber over there in dirt land.

Receiving calls at least twice a day from 800-289-6385.  They come very early (before 9 am) or just at the close of business hours (4:45 pm to 5:00 pm and never on a weekend.  They want a  Social Security Number or Account Number to identify your information.  This is always an automated call.  When I refused to provide the SSN or Acct. number I get the message that tells me to wait for customer service.  When it connects, I get a busy signal and then a disconnect.
