Someone called my # claiming from CRA need to talk about a line on my tax form. Sounded like they were from India or Pakistan.

I agree with ccd. I have a Capital One card that I use for emergencies and usually pay in full when the bill comes in. I got a call on my cell, my home phone, and even my work phone. I called them back at 800-395-7555, and while i was also a bit leery of some of the personal questions they asked, it turns out these were for verification purposes. The fraud department had noted some "unusual" activity on my card, i.e. someone was trying to purchase something online with information that did not match mine. They declined the purchase, killed my card, and sent me a new one since, as they explained, someone might try using it again since they had the information. Unlike ccd, there actually WAS fraud involved and, thanks to the fraud dept, I did not suffer any loss. Very much appreciated service for me as well.

This number is Capital One Security.  It was legit and there was attempted fraud on my account.  The key is not to call this number back, but to call the number on the back of your credit card and ask for the security department.

Yes this is a legit call from capital one's fraud department. They called us to make sure it was us that made a large online purchase. They are just trying to protect the card members

I got a call from 800-395-7555/469-262-3876.  The message that was left said they were from Capital One and its a personal matter.

In my case, the call was about my Capital One account.  Turned out to be legitimate, altho I pursued it by calling Capital One directly.  I am not going to give personal info on an unknown phone #.  I suspect it's a 3rd party company calling on behalf of the bank.

Legitimate.  Recently married and I called to change my name and address. They called back to verify that I did request a new card..

Legitimate...but I did call the number on my credit card to be safe....

I received a message from this number saying he was from Capital One and that there was fraud on my account. I didn't call back the number he provided, but called the number behind the credit card. Turns out his call was the fraud. Capital One did not see any fraudulent activity on my card (nor was my card ever used for a very long time). So Capital One canceled the card and reissued me another one just to be safe. >>>The comments that say this caller is legit is probably the caller himself or his crew!<<<
