1-800-420-4782  is not a valid number for Royal Bank, ITs A SCAM, even their website says it is! for as its listed.
SCAM!!! DO NOT CALL!!!

this is a scam number being sent out to also cells leaving a message and giving you your name to say this is the security department regarding your client card. please call us back at: 1-800-420-4782
NEVER CALL ANY NUMBER that says they form your bank example RBC or ect.  always call your bank number first and give them the number that has called you, to make sure its them and not a SCAM>   our case it was a scam caller, never want to call them back to only as well link you to another number like a landline or cell, or family or friend phone. always call the number that is on the back of your card first.

I called RBC directly, they said it is most probably scam, as there is nothing wrong with my account and I do not even have credit card with them. Advised to report to their fraud department

This is a SCAM!  Do Not call back

This number called both my home and cell phone number and left a recorded message about a security problem with my debit card. Instead of calling back, I went into my local RBC. They looked up my accounts and said there is nothing on file about a security problem.

I got a call from this number saying it was RBC and that my debit card had been compromised. They left this number to call back. I did not call this phone number, but rather the number on the back of the client card. They verified my account and confirm that there was NOTHING wrong with my account. They confirm that they would NEVER leave the kind of message that was on my voice mail. Their practice would be to send a letter; not call. This message was NOT legitimate.

Called RBC directly - he said he did not recognize that number, nor was there anyone trying to contact me from RBC. Not a legit call.

Received a robot voice call from this number today claiming to be "Service Canada" and threatening me with legal action, including "suspending" my social insurance number due to "illegal activities."  Class scare-tactics trying to spook innocent people into giving up personal information and even cash.
