- Bdog4u2| 2 repliesThis is a depth collection company. If they're calling you own someone some money
- Caller: Mcm
- Call type: Debt collector
- Resident47 replies to Bdog4u2Thank you for that pitch-perfect parody of classic debt collector shills, a thinning herd known for their curt bleats of frustration at everyone who wasn't napping through Economics and English classes in high school.
Only those bastions of ignorance believe that Midland Credit Management is infallible like the Pope and never ever turns an autodialer against the wrong parties umpteen times a day, as part of an auto-piloted campaign to collect and sue for aged account claims they cannot defend with straight faces without shooting a pint of Novocaine into their cheeks.
Only those angry flunkies avert their eyes from the long history of lawsuits against MCM and their Encore Capital masters, peaking with a great CFPB thunderbolt almost nine years ago:
CFPB Takes Action Against the Two Largest Debt Buyers for Using Deceptive Tactics to Collect Bad Debts - CFPB press release, Sep 2015
Quoting from the least of their numerous sins: Encore called consumers repeatedly or continuously with the intent to annoy, abuse, or harass them into paying. Encore’s subsidiary, Asset Acceptance, made thousands of calls to consumers before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. and called hundreds of consumers more than 20 times in a two-day period.
Like the sad specimens who shill for them, the Encores and Midlands of the world think that dishonest business is the only business, prompting the Bureau to sue again five years later for breaking its 2015 Consent Order:
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Settles Lawsuit with Debt Collectors and Debt Buyers Encore Capital Group, Midland Funding, Midland Credit Management, and Asset Acceptance Capital Corp. - CFPB press release, Oct 2020
I guess they're almost due for another and deservedly worse beatdown, which should give you springboard material for your revised act. See ya then, dawg! - Pudge replies to Bdog4u2A depth collection company? How shallow! :-D
- Donn| 1 replyThey call every day and don’t leave messages. When I called them back they wanted ne to confirm my phone number and provide my name without telling me who they were calling. I refused to give them a name to associate with my phone number and insisted they tell me who they were trying to reach. The call ended with no actual information exchanged
- Caller: Midland identity harvesting agency
- Call type: Debt collector
- JackReacher replies to DonnThey are a debt collection agency that already has all your information so why would they need to harvest it?
