called me @ 7 pm on a sat night

They are a monitoring center for alarm companies. You may have a friend/relative/neighbor/workplace that has you on call list to be notified of any signals received on an alarm system. If not or if you don't want to be on the list, pick up and let them know. They are required to remove you upon request with/without password.

Called twice at 12:30 am PST while I was on vacation in CA!  That would have been 3:30 am my local time.  If it was a legit call, they would have left a voice mail.  Definitely SPAM, and not the purported alarm monitoring company.

Ummm, no...they are legit.  I thought the same thing but I called them back in case I was on a friend's list and, sure enough, I was.

for a few years they been calling me about some alarm from churches resturant in Brownsville Tx. I have called to have number removed and they are back at it again!

Called me at 6:55am on Thursday - messages said it was the monitoring center for east way lock and key we some random person I don't know.

This is legit.  It is the alarm monitoring center responsible for our farm buildings.
Sometimes, relatives/friends (like your senior parent) may list your number as a back up.
Call in immediately so they will tell you the time of alarm and if police have been dispatched when they failed to get ahold of you.  (they often call up to 3 numbers to attempt reaching someone)

In that case, they clearly  picked  the wrong person for an emergency contact if you're just letting it ring and they're getting burglarized!

This is a burglary and fire alarm monitoring company. They are calling because you are listed as a backup/secondary contact for someone's burglar alarm system.

Legit. Called back after they didn't leave a message. Alarm alert company. The representative ran my number, asked about the person whose list I was on, and upon me saying I didn't know that number they removed me as a contact. Quick easy phone call.

Yes, this is a legit caller. As others have said, it's an alarm company.  I was on someone's emergency list and that person had an alarm emergency.  When I called the number back (they didn't leave a message), they identified both me and the other party by name and described the emergency situation (after asking for a code).  I checked it out and it was real.

The multiple fake postings claiming the call is legitimate are very suspicious.

This is NOT legit nor is it an alarm company.  It is someone pretending to be one, likely a bill collector hunting random leads.  They left a message with my name as the contact for an alarm at a company I have nothing to do with and even the address they gave for the business the alarm was going off at was bogus too.

If they can't get a hold of you they will just dispatch local PD to your residence. It would be a waste of time leaving a message if time were of the essence. What if a burglar had broken in and tied you up inside your house? Would you prefer they waste time leaving you a message? Its not spam . If it was 3:30am your local time then congratulations, you were probably being robbed. Use your brain dummy.

The company is real and the call to me was absolutely legitimate. They also called my backup list when they couldn't reach me. For me they called twice and left messages with a case number as reference. For others, no message. Why didn't they send someone (fire or police)? The error code they received was a "trouble" indicator, not a dispatchable event like "fire" or "break-in" or motion detected. Turned out to be squirrels in the attic chewed the alarm wiring.

My alarm company (real) always leaves a voice mail.  If this number were a real alarm company, you'd think they'd leave a message too.
