i just got one three minutes ago at 3:22 same thing i let it ring then just complete silience for ten seconds and that was the message i hate it i want to know the people behind the other line of the phone

I also received a call from that number 800-444-4444 on July 14, 13.39. I didn't answer; there was no message left.

We get a call from this number EVERY SINGLE DAY.... they never leave a message. we never answer.

I am so damn sick of getting a call from this number.  Calls at any hour of the day or night.
How does one block the number, my service provider told me they cannot bock 800 numbers.  What are we suppose to do?
Can anyone help.

Automatic Number Announcement Circuit (ANAC) is a special telephone number that is used by phone company technicians to determine the phone number of a particular line.  The problem with ANAC numbers, they may be area code dependent. i.e. the same ANAC number does not work for all area codes.

Here are some 800 numbers from the MCI automated help desk.  They are used to verify the number your calling from before your connected to their help desk.  After you hear a number (the number you are dialing from), simply hang up.  Note that this works, even if your number is blocked from CallerID (*67).  The benefit of these numbers, is these are universal and should work from any area code within the USA.

Hey Oui, on viint de tenter de me contacter de ce fouttu numéro 1-800-444-4444, Encore unne arnaque surement. Les authorités ne font jamis rien pour ce genre de scam, elles attendent les prochains Earl Jones, Maddoff ou Vincent LAcroix!

On devrait faire payer des amended au cie de téléphone qui sont les fournisseur de ces copmpagnie bidon. Ils réagiraient à la première plainte....

J'ai reçu cet appel chez moi ce matin et comme ça ne parlait pas français, j'ai raccroché! Mais quelle surprise lorsque j'ai reçu ce même appel chez une amie chez laquelle je vais arroser ses plantes pendant ses vacances d'été...qui ? pourquoi ? comment ?

I “Googled” the offending caller’s number and this company seems to be totally irresponsible!
All 3 calls were originated from 1-800-444-4444 on July 28, 2010 at 15:07. The automated voice pretended that this call was to conduct a survey on a new weight loss product. It then went on to say, that, if I wished to speak to an agent, I'd have to press 1 and to be removed from “THIS LIST”, I'd have to press 9. Therefore, I pressed 9. It then went on to say that I was removed from their calling list.
On August 03,2010 at 13:55 and today Monday August 09, 2010 at 14:54 , but this time I wanted to speak to their “AGENT”, so I pressed 1 after each question (hoping I’d get to speak to a HUMAN to make these calls stop) the recording said that an agent would call me back soon to talk to me about this weight loss product!
I forgot to mention that I am in Montreal, and I have been on the Canadian Government’s National Do Not Call List for many years (even before it became popular!) the same goes for being on the Canadian Marketing Association’s “do not call nor send mail to” list. I verify the validity of these lists every once and a while to make sure that I am always up to date.
This 1-800-444-4444 is deceiving people in the way that they pretend to be conducting surveys, so that they could get around the new laws that protect us!
I hope we can get this company to stop harassing people, (July 28, 2010 at 15:07, August 03,2010 at 13:55 and today, Monday August 09, 2010 at 14:54) too many calls in such a short span of time ... that is harassment!

Has anyone identified who they are by company name and location adn with whom you are speaking at time.  Make notes!! at the time so you do not forget.  . If so supply to the CRTC National Do Not Call list at  https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng to file a complaint on line.  The site is user friendly. Next time they call get as much info as you can first,  then let the authority for enforcement of the  Telemarketing Rules know. This is one way to curb these type of calls, as they can be fined for EACH occurence.  Suggest you register on the National Do Not Call list if you have not already. If you do not have an existing business relationshiop or given expressed consent CRTC can do something as your complaint is valid.  If they are offshore, the authorities can supply info to them to chase down.

got a call from this number saying i had won a cruise from some cruise line. told to press 1 to talk to someone or 2 to be removed. i called the 800-444-4444 number back it it was mci....i dont understand

Got a call, let my 2 yr old answer it... Told him to tell them to remove the number from their list for PEACHTREE. Find a 2 yr old and let them take care of the 1-800#s :)

Why do they call and WHO is it? Is it like a spam call or somethin?
