Claimed to be 53 Bank with important message and experiencing high call volumes.

That ph# is valid because I work for 5/3. We wouldn't call you if you don't have any business with us, unless we're calling the wrong number. We're using an automated dialer and the calls that we're getting are non-stop, that's why the IVR would say that "we're experiencing high call volumes."

yes this is a 5/3rd # and yes it could be a scam too. i contacted 5/3rd. it is one of their #'s. it's the collections dept. rep said he didn't know why i got the call since there is nothing in collections. it is possible whoever is calling is sophisticated enough to have a caller id# come across as that particular # or it's an inside job. remember your bank already has your info so don't let them ask you for anything including the time of day!!!!!!

I got a call asking them to verify the phone number and address ---- they already had it, all I had to do wsa verify it to be correct.  When I called the number back, it said "Fifth Third" but it also asked to enter the account # . . . .

My mom is getting harrassing phone calls from this number as late as 9:00 p.m.  Claims to be 5/3 Bank and they want to know when she's going to make a payment.  She has no loans or unpaid debts.  She also has dementia and I'm afraid they are going to talk her into giving out private information.  I'll be blocking this number on her phone.

Got this call at 9:15 am on Sunday.  The caller ID said unknown.  They said they were 53 bank.  I refused to talk to them until I had a phone number and I'd of manager and where they were calling from.  Finally man said he was Luis  Ballinas and they were calling from El Paso, Texas.  They wanted to have us sign up for over draft protection on our accounts.  my husband told him that he had worked for the FBI and would investigate this call.  They hung up.  Some one had already frauded my husbands cc account and we caught it.  It was by some check cashing group.  These are all frauds on people.  The caller I'd would not display that there was even a call.  So be very careful. They will say anything including giving you a bank legit number when asked but it really not the bank calling at all.

Seriously the rudest bank I have every dealt with.  No respect for customers.

This is not a real bank they have called me every day for two weeks supposed to be seeking a Shannon Johnson I explained that I was not her and he ask for my full name and other information I told him he doesn't need anymore information other than my first named and that I no longer want to receive there calls very scetchy don't give them ant information scam company for sure

my husband got a call on his cell phone from this number.  Asked for our business FEIN number.  Thank
God he did not know it.  I called the number and it was fifth third mortgage dept.  They asked me for my ssn and I gave it to them.  I then thought I shouldn't .  They asked me all sorts of questions and I told them I would not answer any more.  Who ever calls is using 5/3 number as a reference.  Do not give any info to the person who Calls YOU.  I am so sick of these scam people.

Got a call from this number claiming to be 5th3rd bank. They wanted personal information, when I would not give it to them they told me to call 800 457 0839. Checked with 5/3 they claim it is not them watch out, sound like. A scam

Wanted information date of birth to verify idenity

Called claiming to be 5/3 bank and asked for my birthday. I said no, if your 5/3, you have it. They keep calling then hanging  up. They're probably trying to record my voice for later use. I will not answer any calls from this number again.

Received a call on a Sunday from 5/3 bank and saying there was a problem with one of our accounts and asked for a birth date to verify the account.  We said that if they were calling from a 5/3 bank then they should know all of our information, they said it was part of their security verification.  We asked why would they be calling on a Sunday, they said because there was a problem with one of our accounts.  We hung up.  Strong Indian accent, female voice.  Called the number back and it states that it is 5/3 bank, gives you options, chose to talk with someone...says all customer services reps are busy and eventually disconnects.  Why is this number still operational if it has all these complaints associated with it?

Received multiple calls from this number...asking to verify my account number; when I said I didn't have it, they immediately disconnected the call.  I'll be speaking to my local branch tomorrow.

Someone named “Josh” called me from this number asking to verify my home address I refused to give it, I then asked for his last name he refused to give it. What employee representing a national bank branch refused to give their lady name? He gave me his so-called “employee ID number” ... Needless to say I BLOCKED that number!

I've received a call from them no less than five times since Friday. I answered twice and they say it is 5/3 Bank. They always ask me for my SS#. I refuse to give it out. Very rude and I believe a total scam. These calls come at very odd hours; late evening and on Sundays. I think it must be their weekend cleaning crew jumping into their phones and fishing for info.
