I checked with Apple today after receiving a call form the same number and Apple confirmed the number.  They just wanted to verify the purchase I made the night before because the billing and delivery addresses were different.

Ordered from Apple. Received an email from amr_orderprocessing@apple.com telling me that Apple appreciates my business and I should call in as soon as possible due to a concern regarding my order. Seems really sketchy so I tried to search the number listed in the email but got mixed replies. I called in and it some heavy accented guy picks up asking for my name, order number, and address, so I hang up immediately.

Got the same kind of call from Zeke who said he was from Apple and gave call back #. Googled the # and it has been around since at least 2010 and was identified as a phishing #.  Called my credit card company, and someone had charged $1419.16 today.  That charge was identified as fraudulent and my card was cancelled.  Was told to keep watch for other charges because charges can be made for future dates, but if anyone tried to charge anything today with my number, it would be denied.  On my caller ID, the name was all in caps---APPLE INC.  Somehow, it just didn't look right.

Received a call from Trevor, claiming to be from Apple Online, calling about a MacBook that was charged to my work credit card.  I asked him for a number where I could call him back after confirming his identity.  A call to Apple Support indicated that this is a scam number.  He was nice and sounded legitimate.  Don't be fooled - confirm every time!

I got a call from “Apple” today confirming my iPhone 10 purchase. The call sounded totally legit. He didn’t ask for any info just asked if I made the purchase. Obviously I told him no and he gave me the last four digits of my credit card. No idea what this would accomplish for the scammer!? But I don’t think iphone 9’s are even out yet!!

I received the same call from Zeke a few days after receiving a text message alerting me that my order with Apple was placed. I see no charges on any of my accounts though, thankfully.

    It is 100% A SCAM!!!
After spending 6 hours on the phone with the credit card Co. (multiple phone calls) we were able to determine that they are spoofing Apple’s.  I called Apple they told me that  1st and for most that “Apple we’ll NEVER call you even if they suspect  fraud, they will call you 1st. #2 Apple confirmed that this person “Karen” in my case who called from Texas 1-800-506-3096 “spoke perfect English by the way” at Ext. 511143 is NOT AN EMPLOYEE.
Also Apple will NOT respond on these sites to tell you that “yes” it’s a good #  so call your credit card Co. ask to speak to the  fraud department . “ I am not leaving you the correct department name as I am afraid that fraudsters will try to fool us with that information “ just  tell customer service that you  want to speak with a supervisor and you will not take no for an answer you want to talk to the fraud department

Why would someone spend six hours on the phone with the credit card company to determine if Apple called you when they could simply look up the official published number on Apple's official website and ask them directly.  Or simply put "Apple Scams" into a search engine and come up with this?  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204759

message this morning from 800-506-3096 claimed it was from Apple and concerning my recent order which was being put on hold until I contacted them at this number.  I have not placed any order with Apple.  It appears my account may have been compromised possibly by way of my attempt to link my recently purchased Alexa echo to my iPhone.  looks like a scam
