- Alexandriaever since I lost my job in September and my info like name, address, phone number got out in the black hole of the internet...I have had unauthorized charges drawn from my bank account, unauthorized charges on credit cards, at least 60 to 70 emails daily about everything. My computer I noticed was slowing down and then one day when i could not turn it off or get out of a site I knew I was in trouble. I got in touch with a company who fixes these things thru a referral and I had 783 compromised site, and tons of other issues. I was close to a complete crash. I get phone calls I do not know how many times daily. My account had to be closed as the bank after 3 fixes would no longer cover unauthorized charges. so now I have to get new account ,new credit cards, and i did not want to change the phone number as it is on my resume but i am thinking about it. I was also told that a good hacker can use your IP address to do anything they want. That is what I thought might be happening but I did not think this was possible. i had already written to the dept for consumer protection when i saw the new administrator had been appointed by Obama. I received an email from them asking me to report all companies phone numbers, etc as these loan places operate outside of banking laws which is why they can get away with what they do.. meaning calls, excessive high interest, reporting to credit bureau. etc. The new guy appears to want to tackle these things first especially credit reports which do not accurately say why one's credit has suffered.. Those who do not have good credit are prey to these "people" and will threaten to get an account number. I am in the process of giving all the info I can. I kid you not I got an email from someone who said he was the director of the United nations, that is correct the United nations and if I would just fill out my account number and routing they were going to send me a check for being a victim of fraud. and the guy has a hotmail email address. If this were not so dangerous I would have laughed. I sent this on to Washington consumer affairs and the Attorney General in Texas. Some poor souls are going to fill this out. It is so sad that this goes on. It is clear that those suffering financial issues are the ones that are taken advantage of to the point there is no way out...not good

- Alexandria replies to workinghardthese people are not allowed to call your employer.. I get emails from companies who have said I applied for a loan which i did not and then Nissan called and said they had an application I filled out for a new car and they had all my personal info. I did not fill out anything for any car or talk to anyone about a car. Then ins. calls come, and then more loans, I did not know these existed till i researched..there are laws in each state governing this stuff. but calling an employer is like a no no. and if the threaten you..you can have them shut down..this is a federal offense. they are operating outside the banking laws and believe they have jurisdiction to do whatever they want.they do not. check with the Attorney General in your state. as i said I have changed banks, credit cards, had computer hacked into, you name it. i have spent more time cleaning all this stuff up and the cost, that is another problem when you are a victim of these criminals.
- word636Depending on your state laws some states don't require that you pay back these payday loan companies. Check your state laws about usury laws. In NC where I live it's on our website to just close your accounts and ignore the phone calls. Some states says they can sue your for the money but if your state says that it's against the law for payday loan companies to operate in your state just close your account and ignore the phone calls.

- CosmaFolks, please don't cooperate with slime like this, unless you actually DID take out a loan with them. In that case, well you're on your own. Cause it does need to be paid back. But that's likely to be a long, hard, complicated road.
Scams like this are a Billion Dollar industry. Its all about coercion and intimidation to scare you out of your wits. But this leg of that industry is despicable. Don't give them any information at all. Don't even confirm what they may have found on you. There are numerous ways to do that.
Unless you know they are legitimate, you owe them absolutely nothing!- Caller: 800 Number Only

- Mama| 1 replyI just received a call from 1-855-211-9758 and this guy who says his name is JC Edwards gave me a case number, and told me they are going to take me to court for a payday loan that I supposedly took out with Think Cash/First Bank of Delaware. He gave me the wrong phone numbers for my work and home and also had an address that I lived at 4 years ago. He also told me that all the correspondence had been sent to the old address and that they did not have to provide me with any paperwork to support their claim. Is this true?

- unknown replies to Mamain some states they can garnish your wages its just depends on the laws. also just because its illegal in your state doesnt mean you cant face legal action. they cant operate a store but if you go online and apply itis like stealing money. because You have no intentions on paying it back thinking its illegal. i have never did a loan and never will i just have friends who have gotten theirselve in this stupid mess. that what these pay day loan places get. with all the high interest rates
- DorisI get several calls a day from this company. I do not know why they keep calling, but I want it to stop! How can I get this done?

- lostJust moved in and set up a new phone number when the very first call is someone looking to collect on a pdl that I do owe on, but have yet to receive any communication from the pdl co themselves. Strange the pdl co has my email and my mail is forwarded to my new address and yet, I get this call looking for payments from an unknown source NCS who is looking for a payment arrangement for the pdl loan co I have a loan which is outstanding. At first I agreed to make payment arrangements using a gift card instead of bank info, but then it occurred to me .... this is a new phone number and I have not given it to anyone!! How could any collection agency have my new number?? Then my family members received calls regarding me and summons to court and I never gave that family member contact info on any loan apps. Now, I've changed my number again and am on the do not call list and this morning I get a call from this 800 number and I don't answer, no message is left and I hit call return a voice answers the call, giving no company name just asking right away for my name and address and I hang up. I've sent an email to the pdl.com I owe money too and requested a settlement and address to send payment without any response. I don't know what to do and hate that my family members are receiving these calls too! What to do?? I admit I do have outstanding debt and I do want to pay my debt off, but have no idea how and am not willing to send payments to unknown callers who claim to be collecting for a pdl I owe when I have nothing to verify that they are in fact contracted to collect on any owing outstanding debt. I've been told the case number is going out to the processors and I will be arrested, that they will come out to my employer for me etc... I have left a voice message with NCS on the extension that was left and left a voice mail that I needed a letter verifying the debt and address to send payment to via money order or certified check and received a callback later with a message stating that all payments must be electronic a gift card was fine, but that there was no address to send payment. My bank acct has been overdrawn over 800.00 and closed. I want to pay my debt and have no idea how or who to trust, even this blog site I'm sure is trolled by the scam artists throwing out further advice sounding so legit etc.

- ValThese people call my work place 3 times a day and every hour on the hour on my cell and home number. This is getting to be FRICKEN RIDICULOUS. How can I stop this?
- BBI applied for a loan with Plain Green Loans a few months ago. I've made a few payments but now it's getting harder and harder to pay off. I'm behind just one payment but they keep calling. Don't apply for any internet loan. It's far more worse than any pay day loan and pay day loans are bad enough. Better yet never ever get any kind of loan unless you're purchasing house.

- Edith Ann replies to T. ONever send a moneygram to a payday lender if you was suppose to have paid it by checking acct, from automatic withdrawal, something is wrong, for instance the payday is illegal in NC. Don't pay these cons a dime you don't have too, close out your checking acct fast as you can making sure all other outstanding checks for other bills have cleared get an new acct no. and new bank if thats what it takes they cannot take you to jail, its illegal, I had a con to tell me the only way I could pay this back was to send him a moneygram by 10:00 that night and call him back the minute I sent it, anyone knows thats a con man in the working, they cannot force you to do that so don't. That goes to show that payday loan was illegal. Don't let these criminals intimidate you.
