I have received 3 days this week - one was directly for my daughter who doesn't live here. That call's operator slurred her words making if difficult to understand. I hung up. The other two calls were computer-oriented and asked if this was________________, but no name was said.

I took my own advice. I sent the cease and desist letter last month. URS finally stopped calling.

Mary sue them. They can not continue to call you if you tell them your not the person they are looking for. If they do they are breaking Federal law.

These people keep calling even though they have the wrong number.  i have sent a cease and desist letter.

This is one of a long line of caller ID numbers that calls us and gives no option on their automated call, to say they have a wrong number.  We barely got our new number after moving when these calls started and they haven't stopped. I would love to see these co's shut down.  They are inept at even finding the real debtors, so who would hire these collection firms anyway?

With each new phone number we get, we expect there'll be some wrong number calls.  But these debt collectors are ridiculous--they seen unable to find the real debtor, they just keep harrassing the new owner(s) of numbers that were once potentially owned by the debtors.  This United Recovery Systems was spanked by the Fed. Trade Commission a few yrs ago for violation of the FDCPA: http://www.ftc.gov/os/caselist/0023133/index.shtm  It's so irritating that among today's other chores, "researching the caller ID numbers" is one of them, at least when they get irritating and persistent like this one is.  They have a wrong number, they tie up our line with their stupid robo calls, and they leave no option to be taken off their list.  These co's should be shut down.

They call at least twice a day. Been getting these calls for the last 6 months.  when I answer there is silence.  It's so irritating!  now we just let it ring, but that's irritating too.  I'm going to find out from the phone co. about blocking their number.

they call starting at 8:15 am and call off and on all day but the phone rings once or twice then stops so I've never gotten to answer it because I can't get to it in time .very annoying

get calls from TOLL FREE CALL caller id that left a pre-recorded message 'If this is the person and would like to talk to a live operator press 1,If this is not the person and would like to talk a live operator press 2' but NEVER says the persons name they are calling for or identify any company name. Don't owe anything or have a credit card.

Called my Google Voice number and asked if I was somebody.  Yes if I was, Yes I was not this person but wanted to speak to an agent anyway... what?  How about NO-WAY!

Google Voice has put an absolute stop to any harassing debt collection calls.  They go straight to voice mail and I get a digital log of any harassment.  My phone rarely rings now.  Very nice.

everyday this week i come home to at least one message on my answering machine. the machine does not record the whole message it just repeats if you are this person press one, if you want to speak to an operator press 2. i do not know who they want and i do not owe anyone any money.

I got 4 calls from this #. I called back but got put on hold for a long time.
What is the number to lodge a complaint for unwanted call. A response
will be appreciated. Thanks

2/12/2012 - Received call on cell phone from 800-568-0399 that I did not answer; they left no message.  Found that this is United Recovery Systems, a debt collector.

Two hours earlier I had received a phone call from 319-242-7344; a male asked for Jeff.  Since I know no Jeffs, I said no one here by that name.  He said OK and hung up.  Searched and found that CBE Group is also a collection company in Cedar Falls Iowa that has several phone numbers sequential to the second one.

No way to know for sure if connected, but likely they are looking for the same Jeff.

this number 800-568-0399 repeatedly calls, they never say who they are attempting to reach...been advised to ignore these calls....

this number 1-800-871-1840 keeps calling under different numbers(it's a law firm). i have told them they have the wrong number and there is no lucinda. I have made a report two times to the police department. They have called and told them to stop calling. this was on the 13th in the early morning leaving voice mail every time. They stopped since then until 1:56 today on my way to the doctor. It's automated too...
