I was charged with  a fake magazine subscription that I never ordered.  No idea how these thieves got my information

I had four o.oo pending charges in my back account. i called the number and hit 00# after the automated message. spoke with Angelo who was very helpful and made it clear that it was a $2.oo subscription that automatically renewed from a survey . he did also say if i wanted to keep it they would send me a message moving forward when the magazine would renew . it took a few times telling him i want to just cancel which he reluctantly did.

First of all, as had been said before, this number belongs to a magazine subscription service called Discount Magazine Center that gives out cheap subscriptions (usually as a prize for taking a survey or something) that automatically renew a year later. If you have charges from them it's probably because you or maybe someone else in your family agreed to one of these subscriptions a year ago. You can cancel them over the phone and it can tell you the details of when you subscribed and what charges have been placed.
There are two phone numbers: the number I was given when I took the offer, 1-800-429-2550, and the number listen on the bank charges, 1-800-586-7043. Both numbers go to the same company. However, when I called the 2550 number they only found two of my subscriptions, and the 7043 number found all three. Both were automated and worked about the same for me, so you might as well just call the 7043 number. I think it's just an updated version. But call the other one if you have trouble, I guess.
I was trying to find out about these $3.16 charges I was seeing in my account today, and the system was only telling me about my $2 charges from back when I signed up. To get them to explain it, I had to go to the "explain a charge" option and then "ask about a specific amount" or something. It's only after I entered the $3.16 that they finally explained you might get some 'test charges' to make sure your card is still valid, and these shouldn't actually take any money out.
