I receive a telephone call from 1-800-616-0166 at least three or four times a day. I have not been answering the call and just deleting the message from my voice mail. The message tells me "Someone in my household may require legal help"
My phone number is listed on the "National Do Not Call List. I do not have any outstanding traffic tickets or any other deliquent bills that I know of. One time I did answer the phone when this number called but I did not push any of the options that were given. Suddenly the operator came on and said the call I had just dialed was an invalid number. I would imagine so, since I do not have long distance on this phone line. I use my cell phone for long distance. I had not dialed any number while I was listening to the spill.
It is my opinion this may be a way of using your phone to dial long distance by a third person without you being aware of it until you receive your telephone bill.  
My question is, How do I get rid of this annoying caller?

Here are the people to ask for when you call them back. They have recently lost several key people due to the horrible treatment by uppermanagment. I found this on Inside arm.


Accounts receivable management firm Gila Corporation today announced several executive leadership changes and appointments including a new president.

Bruce Cummings has been appointed President of Gila Corporation. He previously served as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer. Cummings will be responsible for the company’s sales, marketing and business development activities. He will also lead Gila’s government collections unit, Municipal Services Bureau (MSB). He will continue to report to Gila CEO Patrick J. Swanick.

Austin, Texas-based Gila has about 300 employees and focuses on ARM and business process outsourcing (BPO) services for government and financial clients.

Domenick F. Riccio adds the title of Senior Vice President of MSB and maintains his current role as the Company’s Chief Information Officer.

Med Fadel has been named Chief State Officer and Senior Vice President of Key Accounts.  In his new role, Med will focus on the Texas Department of Public Safety client and the administration of the Driver Responsibility Program for the State of Texas.

Barbara Fugler has been named Vice President, and she retains her role as the Company’s Controller

Jason Schmer continues in his role as Director of Collections Support for Gila Group, serving the outsourced collections needs of credit union clients.  Jason will now report to the CEO

I just got a call today, and they said i had an outstanding ticket from San Jouquin county in California in 1992!    I was not in California in 1992 I had moved to Iowa in 1991!

I too have recieved phone calls from this number, but on my CELL phone. Now I never use my cell phone for any business other than work. I do not give this number out, this number does not go on any paper work what so ever, I receive few personal calls on it, so I was realy baffled when they got a hold of my cell number. They have only left messages to call, I have never returned any of their calls. AND after reading these coments, I will not return their calls.

For those of you complaining about being called about old tickets, WHY DONT YOU FREAKIN TAKE CARE OF YOUR BUSINESS???!!

And for those of you complaining about being the wrong person called, just answer the phone and tell them they have the wrong person???

It always makes me laugh when deadbeat morons complain about getting calls.  If someone owed you money, wouldn't you call them and ask for it?

We usually check calls on the caller ID before we answer but, for some reason the teenagers of the house seem to think they know better than I do about who deserves to be talk to and who doesn't. The frightened teenager said the FBI is looking for me. The collector said they were the Federal Bureau Services of Maryland. I don't think that call will get answered again.

i keep on getting these calls from the (MSB) and its getting really annoying.. Theycall like 6 times a day to my cell and they ask for someone else that i never heard off. they always leave a message and tell me to call the 18006160166. i think that this a scam... BE WARE!!!!

They called me three times today and are using my cell minutes. I have tried blocking them. I have gotten at least 10 calls in the last 2 weeks. I too, never give out my cell number. Does anyone know who we can report this to?

I am getting a call from a Mark wholenote from the federal being in commission was wondering if it is a scame or not he wants me to call a tol free # 201-204-1577 what should I do I don't want to be scamed

I have been getting calls from this company at least once a day for the past two weeks, The caller ID shows them as Gila Corp and the number they call from is 512-454-4757, asking to call back at this number. The address for Gila Corp and MSB both are the same address and they have the same phone numbers.

I do not owe for any outstanding tickets, I did however have a vehicle that had been repossessed and had been called by other collection agencies as well on this,  I do not answer the phone, when I get calls like these I just ignore them, by talking with them you will only confirm they have reached the person they are trying to collect from.

Let me tell you something about this company..I use to work for them, I recently started investigating all of the compaints they have against them. I found this site, and decided to post something that will be of help. Gila Corporation or MSB is a real company-that said it's a crap company at that. It's located in the most dangerous part of Austin, Texas. The building is gross, the people are nothing to brag about, the management are all overweight and old. They do represent the courts around some states and cities. Examples are Sedgewick County, Wichita Municipal Court, Riverside, Anchorage Muncipality, Hawaii, Austin, Texas, Plano Texas, Denton Texas, Lampasas Texas, Miami Dade Florida..among others. Miami, Austin, and Hawaii and I believe it was Anchorage are the top clients for MSB, they have more oustanding fines than any other state. You guys are all correct, they are extremely rude and uncaring. I on the other hand was not, I understand people and their situations..I didn't approve of much of what they were doing..I was there for the paycheck. They had 2 supervisors fired because they came to work DRUNK...When I heard that I was not surprised.

This place needs to be shut down, they do not give a flying [***] about you or your personal needs. They will deny you time off, they will make sure you don't get your benefits or bonuses..They are just a bunch of boozers, and fat creeps. Trust me, eventually this place will go under big time! I can't wait for that day...The number is 800-616-0166 and they also have a local Austin number if you live in Austin. They call every coast (west, east, north, and south) until 10pm. If they harrass you, tell them to put you on the DO NOT CALL LIST..They have access to it on their end..its a simple copy and paste of your telephone number to the help desk and it's done...you also need to send written notification that you want the calls to cease and decist..If they call you again, you will then be able to sue them and more than likely win a big settlement from them. Don't take their rudeness, stay firm with them and do not give in to their uncaring attitudes. Hope everyone found this more than helpful! Anymore questions, feel free to ask!

I have been getting repeated calls from this company in Texas.  I called the 800 number and they have my number connected with someone in Texas.  I live in Arkansas.  The names aren't even the same.  Not sure how they got my number.

These people are scamming.  They also call from 512-323-4223 and 512-323-4214.  Do not pay these people.  Call the Better Business Bureau.

MSB and Gila corp are scammers.  Don't pay them  Report to Better Business Bureau.

You know I use to do 3rd party collection,I can't belive the laws these people are breaking. They call looking for a friend told them wrong number. The lady gave me his ss#,b-day,and the amount of the det and what It was for. I told her she broke the law her responce was no because it was a traffic ticket. Told them I use train the FDCPA laws thats when she hung up on me

these guys have my magic jack number, wtf.

These guys called saying I had outstanding bills in Hawaii and I live in NC, should do more research. I am turning all info over to local authorities to have them harrassed.

I received a call from them saying I had a parking ticket from 2007.

1.  I did not own a car in 2007 nor do I own one now
2.  O have not driven since 2005
3.  It was from a county in Oregon I have never been to
4.  I called the county the ticket is from and never get a call back, if it was real wouldn't they call me back?

I just quit there after 2 1/2 months of hell and everything you said is 100% correct.  The absolute worse company I have ever worked for, they know nothing of human kindness or consideration.  In the entire time I worked there, not one of my fellow employees ever said "they liked their job"  everyone one of them was very unhappy.   The management talks out of both sides of their month, they say one thing and do another and if like me, you are someone who never calls off or never shows up late, and cares about the person on the other end of the line, they set you up to fail in other ways.  I think your dead-on,  they use the bonuses as a "carrot" dangling them in front of your nose and then look for ways to see you don't get them.   My heart goes out to the people who work there.
