If you go to PG&E's website, there is a scammer who puts the PG&E customer service number (800-743-5000) on the caller ID, but they are not PG&E. If they call claiming to be PG&E and they seem fishy or are asking for your account information, take down their name and phone number. Call the real PG&E back. If it is a legit call, they will have records and you can get things settled then. But PG&E does not call asking for information for your account nor do they solicit for personal information. Do not give any personal or account information to anyone calling you.

The 800 743-500 number is indeed PG&E.  Caller ID said "800 Service". If you call the number the recorded message menu item #3 explains that the police are investigating scammers who use their number as their caller ID.  Announcement says: "They are investigating and regret the inconvenience to customers."  I blocked this number.  I think PG&E has a different number from which they legitimately call back a customer for emergency outage notifications or other good reasons.  So OK to block this number.

I was called many times from this PG&E Customer Service number, after called back to PG&E, they said they didn't call me.

Person on the other end told me he was wanted to discuss solar power in the nude.  I told him it was winter and cloudy and even if he sold me the solar power it wouldn't work and it would be quite uncomfortable discussing anything in the nude.  He told me to go F myself.  I told him even solar power wouldn't make that a reality.

Caller asked if I spoke Spanish. When I said no - hung up.

I received a call from PG&E yesterday and I decided to answer the call.  I kept saying hello about 3 times.  No one answered.  I finally said, "are you going to say something, gonna talk?"  I finally heard a male voice said "No" and hung up.  BUNCH OF SCAMMERS HACKING PG&E!!!

This is a scam call.  The caller ID reads 1800-743-5000 PACFCGASELECTRC and will ask for cash payment via a cash card.

They called and said they are from Water and Power and i should have received a notice that they need payment or else they will disconnect my service. I asked if she will be disconnecting my toilet and she said yes. I said "OK"
Funny part is that I'm in a huge office building.   I've been laughing all morning.

the same scam call yesterday at 2 requesting money

They hit me today at about 11:30 am.  Didn't answer. No msg.  I don't live in PG&E service area. My cell phone number was my old landline number.

Called me yesterday and today, late morning.  Left no msg. I am not even in PG&E's service area although my phone number, transferred from a landline to a cell long ago, is. If this were legit they would be looking at addresses, not phone numbers when deciding who to call.

They've called two days in a row now and in prior months.  800-743-5000 Caller ID PACFCGASELECTRC  I don't answer and they don't leave a message.

Just got a call, didn't answer. It's a legit automated call from PG&E about service work in my neighborhood and that they may need to access my meter.

At this point I never answer calls from any number I don't recognize -- legit companies will leave a message, which they did in this case.
