Who called me?

This number is Cap-1 Small Buisness #.  I just got called and gave them no info.  But calling back to make sure everything is ok or if this is a scam.

800-867-0904 is Capital One Credit Services.  They are updating customer file as required by new federal laws.

No, they are calling to harass...I don't have, never had, and never will have anything from Capital One, so they are not just calling to update customer file.

I got a letter in the mail from Spark Business from Capital One, and the letter had that 800 867-0904 phone number. The letter said I would get s business credit card in the mail soon. A web site said after the first free year there would be a $59 charge for the card. I never requested a card. This correspondence was unsolicited. This makes me never want to do business with this firm, ever...

They are not calling to “update” - they are calling to sell you a card. For instance, I was called - I do not - and have never  - have a Cap One card or account.  They start off by telling you they’re “updating” and then get to selling.

Received call in Florida showing CID info 800-867-0904. Answered to a illegal prerecorded message / robocall, calling as, This is an important message regarding your current credit card account, Member Services. Same recorded message under (877) 732-9194.

Caller ID showed "Unknown Name". But the robocall/prerecorded message in my answer machine was it called me several times and this was the final reminder of my credit card problem.

Credit card fee SCAM from a (probably) overseas call center that SPOOFS Capital One's legit phone number.   Cap 1 has some issues too but these calls aren't even from them.

SCAM  SELLING CREDIT CARDS

Caller ID showed Capital One...  but it is NOT.  They are phishing scammers trying to get you to confirm your info on your credit card all prefaced with,  "and for your security, only give the last 4 numbers"..  eventually, they try to get you to give your full name, full credit card # full social security number,  all in the name of verification.

Shill post reported for removal.

NOTE TO FUTURE READERS AND POSTERS: Be very careful about calls from this number. Based on posts in this thread and over on our sister site, it looks like scammers are spoofing the number/name. Looks like there are two possible scams: Reduce Your Interest Rate calls and plain vanilla Phishing.

Be careful what info you confirm or offer. If you have a reason to be talking to Cap One, better you call them yourself on a number you know is correct.

It does appear that Capital One uses this number for Accounts Payable at Capital One - as per their website. Scammers can be sneaky about spoofing legit numbers.
