I received a call from "Anonymous" today - midday!  On my cell phone!  And it said in its recorded message: "this is not a sales call.  Please call 800-867-5123 for an important message."

I got this one too...but they didn't leave a message. I didn't call back. I wonder if this is one of those Urban Legend numbers too. Did the boogyman come after you when you called it back??

This company calls you pretending to be handling a claim on your behalf...

This is a collection agency that does medical collections

2 a.m. these [***] call.
At least 10 times a [***] day.
God Damn AT&T REFUSES to block this number from calling me,even though I pay extra to block numbers.

This is a very very aggressive collection agency for area medical billings.  According to them, they are #1 in your life and you shouldn't pay your car or house payment before you pay them.  Dorks!!!!

This company called asking for my husband.  When asked to ID themselves, they asked for "Pat."  No one by that name resides here.  She said she was from "The Revenue Group."

If you live in the state of Ohio tell them you are recording the phone call according to Ohio Revised Code.  State to them not to call you again.  Advise them that if they do you will take them to court in violation of the "Fair Debt Collections Act" (FDCA) and seek the maximum amount of damages.  They may tell you to write a letter however if in Ohio you are allowed to used 1 party knowledge taping of conversations (you know your taping and thats all you need).  They should stop.  If not have an attorney sue them (probably get more from them in a lawsuit than you owe them) if everybody starts suing them maybe they'll get the message to follow the law.

My son is a collector and he explained that is the law that once you tell these collectors not to call you, they cannot call you back or they risk being sued. It was part of his training and these companies make sure that the people working for them follow strict guidlelines to protect them from possible lawsuits (there are people who actually make a good living suing these collection agencies). Most do abide, however if you get repeated calls after asking them not to, record the call and tell them you have the call recorded and if they call again, you will contact your attorney. Once they can't call or collect, they "sell" the debt and unfortunately the process could start all over again with a different agency.

I also receiving lots of call stated to call that number 1-800-867-5123 came from local number of 1-330-622-4734.....I didn't hear it was ringing because they are still blocking my T-Mobile call blocker and my "Should I Answer" call blocker apps. I only see the message in my garbage bin. Any incoming phone calls that are not in my phone list will be blocked automatically.
