A woman with a thick accent called me from this number claiming to be from American Express to verify my account information.  Person then proceeded to connect me with a third party to "verify" my information.  They then asked me to give them my Amex account number.  That's when I got very suspicious.  I refused to give them the account number and told them I suspected a phishing call.  I told them they can contact me through email or another method, that I was not going to give my account information over the phone, and that if they were Amex they would already have that account information.  Hung up.

Same thing happened to me today, and she claimed to be with Core Logic verifying credit for my mortgage application.  Very scammy.

Beware of the call from this number! Same tactic used. Hung up when I refused to give them my account information.

It is a company that handles getting information for mortgages, loans, etc.
