Still don't know who is calling from this number or what they want.

The Business Office is the collection service office for the Christus Hospitals. They do not readily identify themselves or the patient they are attempting to locate in case they have a wrong number. I have been fighting them for several months to remove my number from their system.

They have been calling me for 3 and a half years (since I got this phone) and 5 times I have tried to get my number off their list but with no avail.

We are now familiar with what more Americans will become familiar with because of our new Healthcare system. Doctors have found a way to work around the healthcare system. They now own their own hospitals and bill separately. Watch out for the new pop up smaller ER looking corner medical clinics also.
My husband was hit with food poisoning while in Corpus Christi. The community hospital admitted him for treatment into their ER. He handed them our insurance and they took the card but they did not take a co-pay from him RED FLAG. You can't just say ok, well I guess I will go somewhere else when you are in need of emergency care. That means they do not participate in the contracted amount on what your insurance will pay. You will be charged the absolute most they can charge legally, especially these community hospitals. They gouge those who can pay threatening their credit to cover those who can not pay. Great. I get to support people with my taxes and my insurance payments and premiums now. Perfect.

My son went to ER with a serious ingrown toe nail.He has receive 2 bills.one for $483.00 and one for $2174.66. Now we can see paying the 483 but what did they use for a knumbing agent? Guess they thought it was gold or something. No xray, no specialist needed to cut out a toenail so what are they actually charging him for? The $2174.66 bill is not itemized but the $483.00 is...I know they have over charged my son.I'm very disappointed in all this knowing St. Michael Hospital is a good place you go but at these prices for non insured young people is outrageous.I personally will be calling to dispute these crazy charges.3 hours sitting in the ER but 30 minutes in the room.This has to be wrong.

The caller said they were with Christus Hospitals.  They wanted my birthday and street address.  I refuse to give this information until they told what this call was in reference to.  I hadn't been to a hospital in 8 months, and it was not related to a Christus Hospital visit - plus that bill had already been paid via insurance and by me.

They wouldn't give me any information why they were calling, nor a doctor's name, or anything that call might be referencing.  I was nice, polite, and still they wouldn't give me any information about why they were calling.  I asked them to ask me whether my birthday was so-n-so, and I would verify if that were correct.  They wouldn't do that.

I don't give out my home address or any personal information to anyone who won't verify what their call is regarding.  Since we were at a stand-still, the lady said ok and hung up.

To Future Readers - Posts were removed that were placed by shills to try to convince readers that the calls were legit. One of the Red Flags is that the story told was in the 'To Good to be True' category about getting refunds.

Prior posts were about a medical billing outfit that seems to work the 'old unpaid bills' script. The last post was 2018, and now in 2023/24 posts start again. A 5 year gap with no posts at all? That is not a normal pattern for this site.

Be very careful about calls from this number. If you think you have unpaid bills or are owed a credit, with the Christus Hospital system, you should follow up on that yourself, using a phone number you know is correct.

I have been receiving calls stating they are from Christus Hospital. They start asking the usual questions without revealing why or who they are .  The calls started happening about 3 days after my insurance processed a claim, however, I haven't been billed yet.  I have a right to check out the bill to make sure the charges are correct.  They are calling from a "collection department", but I should not be in collections this soon after charges processed through my insurance.  I logged onto my account the Christus and there is a $ 0 balance.  The only thing I could see, and I paid, was a copay to one Dr office because their computers were down @ the time.  I demanded to see a statement prior to discussing anything financial with them.  They get mad and state since I wont verify HIPPA information, they cannot speak with me.  Good, then quit calling.
