I signed up on the ATT site for a free Web listing. I had some idea that ATT would allow a free listing, like other Web-based companies like Yelp. But then they called me at a vulnerable time in the morning to pitch a paid print ad. I thought, "Well, I guess grown-up businesses really do still advertise, and this is what I need to get off the ground." The salesperson seemed to have some confidence in my and my business that I never considered. (He stroked my ego.) They got me on a voice-verification contract over the phone, again, while I was high or something. He said it was pending a credit check, which I'm sure never happened. Over email the next day I said I had to cancel because it was unrealistic to be paying more per month in advertising than my rent.  The salesperson won't tell you the secret hoop you need to jump through to cancel.  He wrote a cheaper plan that I never approved and which went to print 3 months later. The directory came out in December. I was shocked when my first potential customer actually called in February. Being unaccustomed to answering business calls, the caller got confused and hung up on me. It's a cell number, and it's my only phone for personal use and 3 businesses, so I can't answer with a business greeting. There's a reason I like new clients to contact me by email.  Now I'm thinking of changing my number.

    ATT Sucka
Their sales people contacted me thru my advertsing and claimed that they could do much better than the service I was using. They claimed that I would get 30 calls a week. At first the wanted to charge me 170 dollars a month, then they went down to 70 dollars a month. After the first bill the sent me and not getting a single call, I told them that their contract is null and void. Then, later I complained to their sales person, his reply was one job could pay for the advertising. I gave him an F for fired. Now their debt collector called me whom I hung up on.

This is YP Advertising (formerly AT&T). I usually pay our business' bills, but I was out sick for several weeks. Evidently this one got missed in the shuffle. A rep called from this 800 number to ask for Accounts Payable, because we'd missed a payment.

Just retrieved messages off my answering machine.  found this 1800 number.  Gave the name of a firm, and return number, and a reference number when returning the call.  They wanted the business manager.  Call had to be return by 5:00pm central time the same day.  (Like I stated, I picked up the message the next day).  When I tried to return the call this morning the line was no longer active.   SCAM of some such I guess.

We had a call a couple of days ago woman wanted to talk with one of our owners saying she wanted to discuss our AT&T account.  We do not have an account with AT&T.  He hung up on her twice.  Today we got a call from Angel from the "Real" Yellow Pages.  I gave the call to our Office Manager.

I am a receptionist, and this number keeps calling us stating we have an outstanding balance with Yellow Pages.  My boss, the business owner, has not placed an ad in the Yellow Pages.  This call is a scam.
