Received two calls via cellphone both after 8:00pm.  Call #1: left message on my cellphone saying it was my credit union and I needed to call back(which I never did, because my credit union says they NEVER call that late for anything). Call #2: I answered cellphone(half asleep) and it was a lady asking me personal questions about my credit card account. The Good news is I never gave up any information, but the bad news is she already had it, because she started reading the number to me and then asked if I made my monthly payment or not.  I hung up on her and then the next day went to my credit union and got a new card.

I got a call from 1 800 893 7689 on August 31st   2015  at around 8:30 p.m.    The guy claimed to be calling from my credit union to inform me the payment on my line of credit was overdue.  I told him I had paid off the credit line.  He argued with me that I still owed over $200.00. I told him I had a receipt which said by credit line balance is zero. H finally hung up.    My credit union said that they don't call people.  They would send a letter. The guy was phishing.

Turned out to be wsecu after all.  not the credit union itself but the credit card company with an inquiry about our account.  Still, follow all the usual cautionary routes.  Don't answer, don't redial this number, don't give out your info.  Call the credit union during regular hours and get the story from them.

Just talked to WSECU and they said this is NOT the number of the credit card or the bank.  If you have a card with them, you will see the inquiry number is the same for both the credit union and the bank.  They said they would investigate so it is disappointing to see they are allowing someone to misrepresent themselves as the credit union for so long.

I got a call from this number, the man left a message with this number to call back.  His voice mail addressed my by my first name and I've never had an account with this CU.  His voice mail said he was trying to reach Karen M. and asked me to tell her they wanted to talk to her.  I don't know a Karen M.  I (ignorantly) called the number, told them I've never had an account with them, and I don't know Karen M.  They checked my phone number against their files and said there is no account associated with my number.  I probably gave them too much info.  :-(

So happy my grandson somehow hooked up our scanner/printer/fax so when someone calls the landline they get a fax tone in the ear. I check caller id just to be sure I’m not missing any actual calls.

Carolinagirl, why don't you call WSECU and tell them they have the wrong number.  This is the published number on their website.  You can confirm this by going to the website.  Perhaps this "Alex" character had your phone number in the past or perhaps someone simply entered the wrong number.
