- Irene Mazur| 2 repliesHas anyone received any phone calls or mail that includes the number 800-894-2024? Who are these people?
- Caller: Regions Bank Funeral Trust Division
- Nancy replies to Irene MazurI received a letter from Regions bank. My last name was spelled wrong, but my address was correct. It was an annual statement of a cemetery trust, in which I have never purchased. This bank has been and may still be under investigation for fraud.
- Donna replies to Irene MazurMy 95 year old father received a letter which clearly has Regions and their insignia on it. It relates to Cemetery Sales. It clearly to me is Fraud. I am going to Regions Bank Monday to have them to explain to me why he received this. Should be very interesting. Should I receive any negative information I will forward to the Florida States Attorney Office for investigation.
- Mike Hill| 1 replyI THINK THAT THIS IS ENTIRELY LEGITIMATE - AND A PART OF REGIONS BANK THAT HANDLES "TRUSTS" (a legal term with lots of regulation).
For me phone number 800-894-2024 was related to purchasing a "pre-need" cremation service from the National Cremation Society. I had to call THEM to pay off the installments before the 1 year mark to avoid interest fees on their 3-year easy payment option. Interestingly enough the agent that I talked to identified the company as the Dignity Memorial Society (after I identified myself and what I was calling for). Since organizations like the National Cremation Society (and their sister Neptune Society) subcontract everything out to a confusing array of subcontractors (which they are poor at identifying), it's very confusing. This could very well be a Regions Bank trust fund where the money for your cremation or cemetery plot are kept "in Trust" per federal law. This would be to prevent fraudulent pre-need cremation or cemetery plot purchases: the funds are held by a LICENSED FIDUCIARY until the funds are needed when you die, which is GOOD.- Caller: I called THEM to pay a legitimate debt.!
- B-Edwards replies to Mike HillThe number traces back directly to Dignity Memorial.
It seems that Regions Bank does have a "where funds for pre-planned cremation or cemetery plots can be held in trust..."
Not sure why you are posting - you say "called THEM to pay a legitimate debt.! In that case why are looking up the number and posting here? Seems more like something a shill or a scammer would do for advance damage control.
