- AmandaJust got a call at work from this number. Once again Southern Journeys and said it was about an entry that I filled out at the Plano Golf show. I never attended this show.
- papasmurf73This is a scam. Check out this site for further details.

- Jo JoCaller left message. Had hispanic accent; hard to understand. Refered to something I filled out regarding James Taylor....I did fill out a form for some free junk at a recent concert so shame on me
- GraceI filled out a form to win tickets to the 2008 All Star Game. They call almost every day and leave messages telling me I have won something and it's very important I get back to them. They say a different prize almost every time. One time it was a trip then the next day it will be $50,000. I hope they stop calling soon.

- Steve LCaller said I didn't win the contest (whatever i signed up for back in December at the Rockettes, but i was entitled to a three day cruise. All i have to do is listen to their one hour presentation. I asked her if she could mail me something--NO. I asked her to call back in 24 hours and i would look them up on the internet--Sundance Vacations. HEre i am. After reading Google returns on Sundance Vacations, I am bowing out.

- travelfan| 1 replyI went to the presentation, but before I did, I checked Southern Journeys out with the Better Business Bureau. They have an "A" rating, so I went with an open mind to the presentation.
I did not feel pressured in any way.
I chose to purchase the plan they offered and have taken vacations with them.
The accomodations are first rate, and I never have a problem booking a vacation.
I find it amazing that all of you folks crying wolf do not own the plan. You went to a presentation and got a free $300 gift and went home to [***] online because you can't afford to buy the plan. So sad.
And for those of you that think Southern Journeys is a scam, check out the Better Business Burea.
The only complaints they have are these online scam buzzes that are from people that are NOT owners of the plan.
You can't buy it online, and that should be a clue to you. Online travel companies are a scam.
Southern Journeys is a sales office for Travel Advantage Network, and that company has a stellar rating with the Better Business Bureau as well.
So, if you have an invitation to go and listen to the presentation, go ahead and get the free $300 gift. If you buy the plan, that is up to you, but you will still come away with a vacation for which you only pay taxes. And it only costs you 90 minutes of your time.
Then, after all is said and done, don't go bitching online and complaining about a company that you know zilch about.
My 2 cents worth. - DVIt's a scam.
Travelfan who left a message on 6 March 2009 must work for Southern Journeys -- or whoever they are.
The same phone number has been calling my cell phone weekly during work hours. They identify them as Smart Travel Vacations. Same sales pitch -- that I entered a vacation drawing at the mall and won. Not true. They claim my wife entered me but give the wrong name of my wife.
I remind them to stop calling, tell them I'm reporting them to DoNotCall.gov, and then actually report them. Don't know how else to shut them down.- Caller: Smart Travel Vacations

- Jodi| 1 replyI address the issue of vacation clubs boasting about their membership in the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
The BBB is totally supported by business organizations that subscribe to their service such as the consumers’ contribute absolutely nothing to the BBB. Consequently, when a dispute arises the BBB has the choice of supporting the consumer, or biting the hand that feeds them by opposing the business organizations that are the life-blood of their very existence! The BBB is one of the biggest fallacies’ in America. They have no enforcement powers what-so-ever; they are nothing more than a paper tiger totally supported by the business world to offer the unwary consumer a false sense of security.

The above link is only 148 of 392 similar reports on the Better Business Bureau; or, Buyer Better Beware! - tom&lori replies to JodiWe signed up for a free cruise recently at the Dallas Home and Garden show if we'd sit thru a one hour presentation the following week. We went to the presentation .. sat through their speil, and said "No.. we did not wish to purchase a vacation plan" Well, we received our certificate for the FREE" cruise after the presentation, but when we went home and got on-line to book our cruise, we found out it was far from free!!.. deposit plus taxes and fees for this so-called FREE cruise was going to cost us almost $850.. This is a rip-off folks.. don't fall for the "free" anything.. guess we should have known better.
