Legit call for us.  We financed a new AC unit with 0% interest and nothing down through an AC company\s sub-lender and that lender was Wells Fargo. They were just calling to see if all installation was completed. It wasn't (still waiting on the insulation) because we had really bad flooding in the area and the final steps were put off a week.

I got this VM on my cell phone last night about my Wells Fargo credit card...Don't have one...to call them if I did not get the product that I purchased using said card...Didn't call back since it sounds like a scam...

Your note made me think but our financing was done in house...who knows

Had a message on my phone from 800-934-3799 stated my Wells Fargo credit card had been compromised.
I do not have a Wells Fargo credit card.  Did not call them back

Received a message about a payment from a  Wells Fargo account. I called back and the agent requested my full social security number.

After refusing, they asked me "well, is there any information you want to give us?" I gave them my name and was met with silence for the next 10 minutes until I hung up.

Do not give these people any information unless you enjoy having your identity stolen.

I had the same message and I too bought merchandise from a furniture store.  I'm glad they called me instead of letting someone use my credit without my knowledge.  I have been a customer with Wells Fargo for years and I have never had any issues.  They have done more for me than any other bank that I have done business with.  I have heard nothing but bad things about them and usually they are stupid things like "I accidentally let my account overdraft and they feed me every day I didn't pay it."  Hello!  Don't overdraft your account!!

I got the same message! I think this is definitely a scam i have nothing to do with Wells Fargo.

Just got a call from this number asking if I had received my National Wells Fargo Bank card.  I don't have one.  I didn't call them back and deleted the message.

I called the real wells fargo number ( 1-800-869-3557) and they told me that 800-934-3799 is not them and do not  give any information to them. Or better yet, just check your account information online https://www.wellsfargo.com/

This is a legitimate number from Wells Fargo Financial National Bank. There was a recorded message: "This is Wells Fargo Financial National Bank Customer Care at 1-800-934-3799. Our records indicate there was recent activity on your Wells Fargo National Bank Credit Card.  If you have not received the product or service from your purchase, please call us at 1-800-934-3799 Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Central Time. Thank you for the opportunity to serve your financial needs."

I don't have a Wells Fargo Credit Card but, I had, a couple of months prior, made an interest free contract purchase at a retailer for an appliance through Wells Fargo. However, worried that someone may have compromised the account I called that number. The "agent" verified my account number, last four SSN, and address. He looks up the account and informs me that the only purchase activity was my original buy and verified the amount. So, I asked why the phone call and message? He replies that, "Oh, we do that for everyone."  So, I said, "Why so long, it's been almost two months?"  He says, "Well, they're really backed up and the computer had just now made the call." So, I said, "Well, if there were illegitimate activity on my account and two months pass serves no purpose for the call!" He says, "Well, we do apologize for the inconvenience."  I told him I don't want anymore calls like that for no reason.

I really think this was a scare tactic so you would call and they then confirm that your address, phone number, and other information is correct probably for future bill collecting, etc. The agent even asked if I were satisfied with the merchant and the appliance. So, I am not sure what they want other than fishing for information that may be used later for more advertising, junk mail, debt collection, etc...  The message was an inappropriate lie as there was no recent activity and only served to incite a little fear in order to cause the recipient to make the call..

Slumber-land does their cards through them.  Thank you for reminding me. We got one also.

My call was legit. Just a courtesy call from Wells Fargo confirming a purchase.

Automated call with no caller ID, said Wells Fargo Home Projects VISA for $9,069.00 for HVAC Air Conditioner purchase. What is odd is that we had one for that a long while back. Called WF and they said that 1-800-934-3799 is NOT a WF phone number.

I also just got a call from this number. Telling me about a purchase that was made on my Wells Fargo card for $1,900.00 of Couse I got concern for a fraud!  It was a recording. I called today and I was told they couldn’t find any information under that number with my name or my family names.

I received a call from Wells fargo  saying a charge of so much had been made but could not understand who it was charged to..I called the number given and they could not find an account with my name or number called...I do not have an account with them!! she wanted my social security number but I would not give it to her...we do not finance things so that was not an option.... the caller said unknown on it but gave the Wells Fargo number..still weird.

Got a call from the above number, caller ID listed it as Out of Area. Stated that a purchase was made in the amount of $12,750.00 and from Tiger Remodeling. If I didn't make the purchase, I needed to call them. I have not made the purchase. Called Wells Fargo Direct, they don't even own the number that was given, spoke to their fraud department and they have been advised.

Fraudulent phone # . Do not answer.

This was a legit automated message in my case concerning a recent home improvement purchase.
