I received a phone message from 801-737-2500 and the message was about an old investment.  I was curious and called back and a Brad M. told me he ran a finders service for people who were owed money from old investments and old estates.  He sent me a letter and I followed up on his directions and ended up getting a substantial check from something I had given up for lost forever.  He treated me fairly and honestly.  It is a great service.

Montierth & Associates is a financial boutique located in Ogden, Utah that specializes in investigating old financial records.  I dealt with Brad, and he was honest and fair with me.  I recovered money owed to my parent's estate by following his directions.  He worked with me on a handshake basis which I found refreshing in today's skeptical world.  Brad actually trusted me to be honest with him.  He was very concerned to make sure I was able to keep my private information private and never ask me for any private information.

Yes it is.  They found some money that my mother had in an old bank account.  She had passed away years ago.  They got the money for me.  Great service!

The company is shifty. It does exist, but Brad's son Braden does most of the work now and he is an attorney that is sue happy. If you don't do what he wants, he threatens to sue. I wouldn't ever do business with them again. They just go to the unclaimed property division of the state (Michigan for me) to get your information, and then the fabricate a story to make it sound like it will be difficult to get. Call or check the website for the unclaimed property for your state and they will help you get the money at no charge to you. The Montierth's wanted 25% that's way too much in my opinion.

They have contacted me about a possible claim, but when I check treasury department records my name does not show up. Is there some place beside treasury to check?

I had a similar experience.  I was contacted by this group and they told me that I had some money owed that I vaguely remembered.  It was a UGMA issue where my Grandfather gave me some stock and put my mother down as a joint owner since I was a minor.  I gave them the go ahead and within about 10 weeks I had the recovery.  They were professional in every way.

I am going through this right now.   They were not truthful about what money I had available to me.    It was through the Michigan treasury department

Sometimes they money belongs to a deceased relative and they believe you are the rightful heir to the estate. Check other names associated to you and if you still can't find anything, call the treasury department and let them know of the letter and someone there would look into it. Montierth & Associates seems to know what they are doing when it comes to research so something is probably there, Braden and Brad just seemed rude when they talked to my wife so we opted not to use their help but found it originally belonged to my deceased father-in-law and she was the rightful heir. The people at the treasury department were very helpful and we got the whole thing done in 2 weeks.

This company is a scam.  You can do it yourself through the Treasury Department with unclaimed property.  Anyone else saying different either got scammed or is part of their team...

I received a letter in the mail from this Brad Montierth about unclaimed money so I called....He talked hard and fast and asked me questions but never even let me speak more than a few words. It was exactly like talking to these hard sell scammers that call every day for something. I would never trust someone that treated me like that muchless put my signature on any paperwork that he prepared nor would I be able to believe a thing he said. When someone is talking about money and rolls over you like a freight train...well, let's just say it's definitely unprofessional and doesn't inspire trust.
