    Came up as "Dr. lowell M. merilyn, DDS"[sic]. No message was left and I could not find any such dentist in Utah.

    They called and said that they are a law firm and  that we owe money or we will be sued. Tried to find the number again to call and came up as possible spam? Trying to figure out if this is legit.

    Anytime they threaten a lawsuit you can be sure that it is a scam. What is the name and BAR number of the attorney? What state or states is that attorney registered in? Have you checked that registration and have you personal called the phone number associated with that attorney to make sure that it is really him/her calling you? Have you checked with your State Attorney General, the FTC, and the CFPB?
