Two robo-dialed calls in a row to my cell. A direct violation of the TCPA, complaint filed with the FCC for both DNC violation and TCPA violation for robo-dialing a cell number. As to this being a mortgage company; I have no mortgage and own no property as my home was lost to federal bankruptcy nearly three years ago. Obviously 100% scam!  Remember people, when you report to the DNC registry, if it is a robo-dialed call to a cell number please report it that way! Then look up the TCPA online so that you can sue the fools (if you can ever identify them).

They called my phone twice today. I don't have any motgag issues but I did have a credit card in the past that i defaulted on. could this be the same department that does the calling to try and collect?

You seem to know alot about how the law works for these kinds of issues.

Please let me know what I can do?

I received a call from this number, they DID leave a message and it was for a confirmation of an auto loan I had applied for.    I had a Fraud Alert on my credit report, so they had to call to confirm I was actually applying for the loan.   This was a legitimate call in my case.

Called and lied said he was returning my call but used my employers name and said for to give him a call at his home and gave another number

I received a voice mail from Kimberly at SunTrust from this number. She said for me to be on the lookout for a FedEx package from them containing one page of my recently closed loan docs which already has my signature, but has a box that wasn't checked that was missed at the signing, which I need to read, initial and send back in a postage paid envelope. She also said the package would include a cover page stating her supervisor's name, 800 number and title.  I will wait with interest and see what it is.  If I have any questions, I will contact my SunTrust mortgage loan officer that handled the closing. I am a paralegal and my husband is an attorney, so we definitely won't sign any papers we don't understand.

I am a real estate agent who works with short sales, so I get calls often from this number while I help them through their short sale.  If you are receiving calls from this number, your phone number is in their database as belonging to a customer who is seeking a short sale or has defaulted on their mortgage.  It is also possible that one of their customers in this situation used you as a reference on their mortgage application.  If this is not the case, you need to call them back and tell them you received the call in error.  They can look up the account and remove your number.  This is not a scam, it is Suntrust's Home Preservation Department.

If you have received a call from this number 804-291-0001 stating they are from Sun Trust well I called Sun Trust to verify the number and was informed that Sun Trust will never call asking for any personal information because they already have it in their computer system. The people who are calling from this number have no affiliation with Sun Trust that is why they can act so irate and hang up on you. So beware!!!!

Got a call just now asked where my [***] was?  I said what?? and she said Mary?? where is your [***] [***]!!  I blocked it from my cel now so no more calls.

This number was from Suntrust Mortgage returning my call.  Very nice and helpful about refinancing.

Called my cell, and asked to verify my property address. I asked what the subject of this call would be - I'm not handing out personal information without knowing what the story is. The lady said she couldn't tell me - why the heck do you call me then if you can't tell me the reason?? I don't have a mortgage and don't need one, hence I ended the conversation.

This is a caller from SunTrust Bank.
He will tell you that much, and nothing more,about the reason he is calling until you  until you prove to him that you are indeed you.
To do that he wants your date of birth and last 4 of your soc #.
I told him no.
Told him why, and had to tell him again before he said
"that's ok,I take no offense"
To which I said,
"you are stuck on this phone with me buddy"
and began to offend him no end.

Why woud a legitimate Bank call me on a SATURDAY ??? I do not believe you!!!!  MY Payments are 100 percent up-to-date.

It's Suntrust.  It was my mortgage guy returning my call, as I'm looking to borrow more $$ for construction.  I was expecting his call, so it wasn't a robocall or anything.

They called me and said they are with Suntrust and asked me for my name and address. I gave them that and then asked what the call was about and they said they would tell me only after I gave them my SS#....I hung up.

This call is from SunTrust mortgage, but it's not a debt collector, they are trying to get you to refinance your house.
