I received the same call.  He said the same things stated on this message board.  He did know my name.  I am aware that it is available on the internet.  He claimed to see hacker activity from my computer, but he could not identify my IP address.  He insisted that I connect online with them so that they can fix it.  I did not.  He also said that no antivirus software can fix the problem.  Only they can fix it.  Keep in mind, Microsoft would never "cold call' anyone to fix anything.  I hope nobody falls for this scam.

Their calls are made using a MAGIC JACK that you buy from radio shack! COMPLETE SCAM. DON'T ALLOW THEM TO REMOTELY VIEW YOUR COMPUTER UNLESS YOU WANT ALL YOUR INFORMATION HACKED. THINGS LIKE BANK INFO, ACCOUNT INFO, EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION THAT YOU HOLD SACRED. They use several aliases. Ones like Technopoint, or IFIX. I asked if it was Technopoint when I called back and the operator just said,"Uh huh." someone needs to notify the FCC or Texas authorities before they are able to destroy peoples lives!

These people jacked up my father's computer yesterday. UGH!!! They put a password on it, now he cannot login and they want him to wire $300 to ARKIDIA TECHNOLOGY INDIA LIMITED through Western Union to fix it.  The 806-590-7967 number was the technician and they used a 469-250-5919 ext. 108 number to sell him on letting them connect.  I support networks and computers, yet I cannot convince my father to call me before he lets anyone access his machine. So pissed off......

Same shheeet!!! only I got Mark Williams. did normally what I always do ask for number to call back. He even gave me his employee number 81004. NO THANK YOU! I have a brand new laptop with A LOT of anti-virus and mal ware, don't look at porn on this laptop..(lol) that's what IPhone is for, (LOL) great security. Something I learned from my tech guy, don't use you computer as a Administrator, instead make another profile and use that for your primary log on, that way if you do ever get hacked they hack you and only have permission as a guest or what ever your setting are and although it might suck when you do have to download something at least you will 1.) think first before you download anything and 2.) it will limit the access if they do get in and will not be able to make changes with out administrator FYI

Same thing just happened to me. Don't believe them. I listened to them for a while and then when they wanted my Remote ID/password, I told them I needed to call them back. Called them back and spoke to the "Manager" who then got super upset at me when I said I was calling the police department. He then called me back but I hung up on him.

Just got the same call and there was so much static in the background as if they were sitting in a ditch somewhere outside.  Has to be a scam, I told him to lose my number.

No way people help out of their kindness of their hearts and besides the number that they will tell you to use that they located on your computer is a general number that pretty much every computer has.  Don't trust this ONE bit.

Had the same type of call. They said Microsoft asked them to call me because my computer was sending a lot of messages to them and they weren't good. He came into my computer using TeamViewer and was about to tell me how to fix these errors. Of course that meant buying some software. I hung up and changed my password. I have no idea if he did something to my computer or if he was able to obtain information or not. My computer is a mess but it was before he called.

If he had access to your computer before he asked for money then you need to act quickly.  By haviung acccess he could see any bank details and passwords you are using.  He can take money from your account or buy things on line using your passwords.  That was the object of his call, the money was just a bonus, which is why he didn't ask until after he had access.  Most people refuse and end the call but, by then the damage has been done.  There is a warning about this long running scam on the Microsoft website and the bottom line is that anyone calling your saying they can "see" faults on your computer is a scammer.  There are no exceptions.

I have been receiving these calls from "Microsoft Helpers" every couple of weeks for several months now.  Finally played their game and pretended to be scared by what they told me: that my computer was infected and they could fix it.  When I told "Victor" that I didn't have time to talk, but would call him back, Vic gave me his #.  Dumb-@$$!  Of course, I haven't.  But, in the few subsequent days, they sure have been calling me.  Btw, I didn't know that Texas (from where these jo's say their from) annexed the Middle East.  Could barely understand a word this guy (and previous) said.  If any of these schmos were in front of me, I'd tear out his friggin larynx...just for wasting my time!

This guy calls me and tells me he is from Microsoft and that my computer has been hacked and he needs me to give him information on my computer, so I played along and then asked why would I give him my information and that I don't send information to Microsoft.  Then I asked him to go to a command prompt and give me his IP address so I could verify that he is calling from Microsoft, then he wouldn't give it to me and said that he works for a different company name I couldn't understand.  Then I asked to speak to his manager and he wouldn't do it and only would ask why I would need to when I can talk to him.  Then I said he sounded drunk and wanted to talk to his manager to tell him that he's working drunk.  Then I asked for his number and called it from my computer while I had him on the phone and then he hung up.  Then when the number answered, it was him again, and he told me if I wanted to know more about the company I can look it up online but didn't give me the website name and hung up.

I just got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, sounded like a call center in the background. He said he was calling from Windows. My computer was sending out error message and he needed to access it. I hung up on him and he called me back. He tried to smooth talk me. I told him it made no sense that he would be calling me from Windows to access my computer and I hung up on him again. I'm glad I looked up his phone number and found all this info. The first time he called me he blocked his number.
