Called on my land line. Let it go to rec. no msg left. Caller ID said NPF.

Automated caller gives a name and then starts rattling on about a fund raising event.  I hung up.

Clearly a scam.  "Patrolman association" calls always are.  When I demanded the caller tell me who he works for he said "Outreach something, Reno NV".  Reno, eh, but pretending to be calling from Indiana?

There are two charities using multiple fundraisers / telefunders / tele-scammers but both out of Sarasota FL using NPF National Patrolmen'S Foundation. Calling with names like Ken Daugherty or Mark Morrison as the caller.
Ref: to find them under Florida's gift giver website you have to use the exact "National Patrolmen'S Foundation" to pull it up but shows "International Union Of Police Associations, Afl-Cio" also soliciting as and may use any combination of all:

Under the FTC's TSR you can stop the calls under all databases by contacting the charities and demand placement on their "internal do not call lists" or identify the fundraiser calling and and make the same demand. They are using solicitors / tele-scammers / telefunders:

Call came in as 1-812-947-7596 as "Patrolman's Foundation". This "foundation" wants to send a donation packet.  Scam!!!

I never answer a call I do not recognize. I called back and hit # 1 to be removed from their BS list.

Caller ID said "Texas". When I answered the line and demanded to know who was calling me and what it was about, the line was disconnected. Don't know if it's a Patrolman'S scam or not. By the way, our local Police and Sheriff offices don't use the telemarketers because they keep most of the money for 'overhead' and pass on very little to the agencies using them.

Caller ID says TEXAS but this is not a Texas area code.  No message left. I called the number back and a message comes on hello none of our representatives are available right now you should receive a call back within a few minutes

Didn't answer. Caller ID says "Texas". This call came in 30 mins after a call came in from 979-871-2472, which also said "Texas". Both numbers show up on Who Calls Me as scam supposedly collecting for law enforcement. Seems to be no end to this, get 3 to 5 scam calls a day. There should be a law which is enforced because the Do Not Call list is useless. Our phones are for OUR convenience not the callers!

Neutral Tandem-Indiana LLC is the company associated with this number, and they are handled by (owned by?) Inteliquent, a Chicago telco. Their network operations center can be reached at 866-388-7258.

Because the scammers are pretending to represent law enforcement, the Inteliquent NOC said that I should call the police in Bloomington. According to the Bloomington Police Dept, while 812 is an Indiana area code, 947 is not a prefix in that area code. They get this complaint several times a day, and sound pretty tired of it. Unfortunately, the Bloomington PD said they could do nothing and that I should report it locally here in Texas. The Austin PD, in turn, told me to call the FCC, who then told me to call the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357.

The FTC was happy to open a case for my complaint; I recommend all of you do the same.

Continues to call 7 times this week! I do not answer and they do not leave a message. Who is this?

Tired of phone ringing. Picked it up, after 3 "Hello's" I got "Hi, this is Bruce something-or-other! How are you doing?"  while trying to decide what I could politely say, I obviously took too long and the call was disconnected.
