- LLI get calls from "Linda" all day long too! I have been paying on my two Capital One cards for about 10 years and always paid on time. Recently, the hours at my job were reduced and I called Capital One to see if they could reduce my interest rate or eliminate the monthly/yearly fees. I explained that even though I was paying them more than the minimum amount every month, the balance was not going down because of the fees. The person that I spoke to apologized and said there was nothing they could do for me. I told him that it was funny that they couldn't do anything for me when I was current, yet if I was to stop paying I would be innundated with phone calls from them offering me "solutions". After that phone call I stopped paying and that's when "Linda" started calling me with her options! Well, "Linda", ya should have offered me "options" when I asked for them. Now you are not going to get another red cent from me. I predict in the next week or so that the phone calls from them will stop and I will start getting calls from a debt collector as they have to write the debt off their books after 120 days. Then I will have fun with the debt collector! I think they use Pressler and Pressler in NJ and I have already had my day in court with them and won!

- Anonym replies to vikkyHow about working instead of doing the student teaching and school you dumb [***]. Don't give me the can't find a job excuse. If you look long enough, you can find restaurant or warehouse work at the bare minimum.
- AnonymNumber has no caller ID, notes FL, USA but not Capital One (ironically they just got fined for duping customers for extra fees and protection for their cards)
"Hi, this is Linda, we'd like to discuss solutions regarding a business matter with Capital One..."
Translation: You paid us on time, but instead of the "REQUESTED amount" you sent us $40 less (but still over the minimum payment) of what we feel you should send us. "discuss solutions" is term for discredit your worth, increase your penalties and strap you like lead weight to a swimmer.
"a business matter" you are borrowing from us, so like the loansharks that we are, instead of sending "louie" over with a baseball bat, you will get these calls until we reach you, because we like you so much, our favorite caller LINDA will call you daily. Oh, and we keep raising your interest from 5.9% to 26.99% because you were 1 minute late with your payment. Oh and I see you are $5 over your limit of $20K... Thanks for funding our corrupt institution!

- Tater's Mom replies to vikkyI get the same crap from Capitol One. I have less than $800 coming in right now on unemployment. That has to cover rent, auto ins. some utilities, my cell and then I try to catch up one card or over due bill each month and all others get a partial. They must not have to eat or get gas incase they were called for an interview etc... We can only make the money go so far so take it or else I'll give it to another one who is not calling as much and NOT listening!
Good luck to you btw. - Bailey1I declined a call from this number:

They left a message with a woman's voice, however it was an automated call because the message only had the last digits of the callers number and she repeated it again and hung up. I'm current on payments and not over limit also. I think it's a hoax. It's probably someone acting as capital one.- Caller: Capital One
- CRB ShumateFor three a;most nearly consecutive days, I have received calls from this number from a woman who says she wants to speak to my husband Sidney a. She then later identifies herslef as working for cpatiol One. I told her that calling me on the tlehone is harassment. I have reproted each time she has called to the FTC. Today, I recieved a call from her, and then called back the number and spoke to someone who identified himslef as Dave Bayvone with cpatol One Emplayee number MH something or rather. I told Dave bavonne that there was no way for me to verify that he actualoly is from captol One; that I have spoken dirctly to the FTC about Cptol One over the phone, yesterday and was told about people phsihing in the name of Cpatiol One. I asked him to sotp calling me at home, and he said that only my husband who has the acoutn can request a cease and deisist from Captiol One. To the best of my knowledge, this is not so! I also rperoted this call I recieved today to the FTC via the internet. I was also told to reprot it to the Virngina Department of Consumer Affairs. Unfortunately, the state of Virgnina does not do much in the area of Consumer Affirs, and all consumer affiras complaints have to b resolved a the federal level. At any rate, I did my best to reprot this Gyspsy outfit, today.

- JaneAfter reading all the messages - I have never had a Capital One account and never will. Sent them to my block list. There are so many scams out there. They can say they are Capital One or anyone else for that matter. If you tell them to stop and they continue they are in violation of the FDA but this will not really stop them. They are not interested in your difficult circumstances. There is one option - you can send a certified letter to their Supervisor at the billing Dept with your explanation. If you Default on your payment, they will turn your debt over to a collection company who are out for blood. The collection company can file a complaint in the magistrate or district court of their residence (depending on the the amount owing) and try to get you served. If no service they can dismiss without prejudice which means they can refile if you can be located. If you receive physical service then you have 20 days to file an answer or they can take default which means they can get all the money you owe plus their attorney fees. This will stay on your credit report for 7 years. So if you can pay them off it would be in your best interest. Be careful of debt consolidation because there are a lot not to be trusted, just do some research. If you have no debt with them and they call you would be better off not to answer. First of all there is a law about not calling on Sunday, at least there used to be.

- MarkGetting calls from Linda, allegedly at Capital One, wanting me to call back to discuss a 'business opportunity'. I don't have any Capital One cards or anything else of theirs. If it's number that's not in my contact list I send it to voicemail. I added the number to my block list which should stop it. What a PITA. Why do we have to put up with this crap?

- Common Sense replies to CherylIrresponsible people who run up credit card debt that all of the sudden cant pay their card somehow think that the people they owe money to should just let it go and not bother them. Hilarious! I'd call 10X a day too. Your irresponsibility is not their problem. Accept that you'll be "bothered" until you find a way to pay up and perhaps next time....don't spend money you don't have.
- buttercupSomeone keeps calling me from this number. I have contacted capital one concerning this. They said that they are not doing this. They said not to answer it. Asked about my accounts and they said they are fine. Please stop calling.
