They just called me. I did not answer and they left no message.

This is NOT a scam or con.

If you purchased WINE from one of many reputable clubs/sellers online or at a vineyard, you provided your phone number. This company is simply calling you to sell you more wine. They are not calling you out of the blue: YOU PROVIDED THEM WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

You may not have anticipated that they would be calling you. But they are. So, if you are bothered, simply answer the call and politely ask them to put you on their DO NO CALL LIST and they will comply because they are a legitimate company with whom you have a relationship.

got call late evening and the call came across at State College (Penn State)...it was a bogus call.  wonder if the University knows it is being used for harassing calls?

They called and knew my name. Gave the phone to my 7 year old who screamed 'peanut butter jelly time'. They didn't call back.

I suspect they spy on people. From the manner in which they tried to speak to me. Really trying to get under my skin and trying to threaten at the same time. Insult them and hang up immediately. Make sure they know you are not afraid.

Yes, creepy. No reason to say that the call is recorded for telemarketing, or to call late in the evening. I perceived it as threatening. I made it clear that there is no reason whatsoever to call me from Wall Street Journal Wines.

I did not provide them with my number. I asked WSJ wines several times to put me on their no-call list, and they said several times that they had done so. Still calling in the evening, from  RECORDED line ? Thanks for the effort of trying to explain this politely, but thank you, no thank you.
