This number called and the voice mail was a very bad audio but saying it was IRS final attempt and that a lawsuit had been filed against me

My message said the IRS was suing me!

received 3 calls from this no. on 1-28-17 at 2:56 pm. did not leave a message.

YET AT&T INSTALLED THIS NUMBER AS A FORWARDING NUMBER ON MY NEW PHONE AND ALL MY CALLS ARE BEING FORWARDED THERE EVEN WHEN I ANSWER THE STUPID CALL ....AS WELL AS EVERYTIME I CALL OUT!
How can someone also call out from this same number? WTH?

My wife got a little flip phone from an AT&T phone store.  It was set up at the store for her by a salesman.  When she would check her voice message, there would be strange messages.  Usually a doctors office reminder for an appointment. or an elderly man leaving a message for "Rick".
We thought people were getting the wrong number and calling her by mistake. I finally checked her phone and I found that the preset Voice Mail number was 816-225-0010.  That is not our area code and it is not possible to make a mistake dialing the rest of the number and end up with hers.
I only checked the number to see who it belonged to.  After seeing all these complaints, I'm wondering if it is some AT&T employee compromising peoples phones somehow.

My calls are being forwarded to this number, too. It is an AT&T number. I am going to pursue this.

I got a voice mail from this number, but since I didn't recognize the area code I didn't listen to it.  How can a call go to voice mail when my phone didn't even ring?
