Thank you for your comment, I too just received a call saying I won. I wanted to believe it since I did enter a contest. They told me I have to drive to Sheridan, Il. to claim my prize by way of a scratch off card in which I could win a car, vacation, 15,000 dollar shopping spree or 500 dollars. The lady said I would also get a 40 dollar gift card and a free trip.

Silverleaf Resorts at this number has been calling our home phone 5 or more times a day for the past week. I WILL NOT answer their call, but it is annoying to have the phone ring so often. Don't you think they'd get the message sooner or later that we aren't interested????

Yup, I very stupidly entered my name in for a car drawing at Oktoberfest in Addison, Texas. That was back in September and they still call ALL THE TIME. 5 months and they haven't given up. I think my mistake was humoring them and arranging for the tour, hoping that would make them leave me alone. It only made it worse. I think your only hope is to block the number? It's defintely Silverleaf Resorts though.

This is crazy, it's a time share.  I signed up at a Spurs game and not thinking but after I spent the wheel and landed on New York she said I could go if i signed up for a a tour at Canyon Lake for this resort, I immediatly remeber I have been through this before.  A couple years ago, I agreed to attend this place and just for going you get a gift card, a dinner there at the resort, and prices.  My sister and I went, they talked to us for like 90 min, then put us in a room, tried to convince us to do this time share, we said not, then they took us to another room where someone else tried to convince us to take the time share, we said no, we were there for 4 hours and just wanted our money and food vouchers.  Finally we got to eat and the food was awefull and we waited for our gift cards and they said they would mail them. DO YOU THINK WE RECIEVED THEM? NOPE!!!!  I will never do this again, no matter how much they say what YOU CAN WIN.  I know its just their job, but no means no.  I think if I would have got my gift card maybe I would do it agian.

It really isn't a bad deal. When you do the 90 min. Presentation, just tell them you honestly have no use for it. Stick with that and they go away pretty quickly. I have done it  twice and am about to go for a third. The trips are for real, you just have to follow all the steps.

I just call them back, repeatedly, and wait for them to put me on hold. Obviously, I don't use my phone to do this. If you have access to another phone then harass them back.

In Europe we get this too. It's timeshare holidays and the way it works is this. They offer free Hotel for a long weekend in a holiday destination. You get your own cheap flights. Once there you get a free bottle of champagne (sparkiling white wine) then they take you around the resort hotel and give a presentation on owning a timeshare there. Then its a very pushy atmosphere to get you to sign up there and then. They are very persistant and have an answer for everything you ask ! They are very well trained. In the UK you have a cooling off period in which you can cancel a purchase of this kind. I would advise this. If you're not interested in getting a timeshare - answer the phone tell them you know it's timeshare and you're not interested they usually stop calling. If you don't answer the phone they will keep trying as they have auto diallers.

That was a brilliant move . . . considering it's a class A misdemeanor if you've got your CHL.  Trading a potential of jail time and fines for no more calls from marketers . . . hardly worth it.  Doesn't matter if they're loaded or not.

I sincerely hope the moron above who stated he scared them with his unloaded concealed handgun was kidding. First of all, why even carry if it's unloaded? Secondly, if you brandished your weapon to scare them, that's either a class A misdemeanor or a felony. On top of that, you give everyone with a CHL a bad reputation if you even bothered to obtain one.
